Cindy Crawford's Heartfelt Tribute to Son Presley Before Tragic Loss New

Cindy Crawford's Heartfelt Tribute to Son Presley Before Tragic Loss

Cindy Crawford expressed her love for son Presley Gerber in a sweet birthday tribute shared just two months before his death. "Happy birthday @presleygerber I’m so proud of the man you’ve become, but I'll always see you as my little boy! Love you ❤️," Crawford, 60, wrote via Instagram on July 2. Alongside her message, Crawford shared a throwback photo from her son's childhood and a more recent selfie. News broke on Sunday, September 20, that Presley died at the age of 27. "The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time," read a statement to Us from the Crawford-Gerber family. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Presley was at a rehab facility when he died. A cause of death has not yet been revealed. In an interview published days before Presley's death, Crawford opened up about her new life as an empty nester. (The supermodel also shares daughter Kaia Gerber with husband Rande Gerber.) "When they become adults, all of a sudden you're like, 'OK, I've got to back off here.' It might not be the way I would do it, but you know," she told PORTER magazine this month. Crawford continued, "When you get married, you talk about what kind of family you want or where we're going to live. But no one ever talks about what this phase looks like, empty nesting, because it's so far away you can't even imagine it. But it's an opportunity for us to redefine our relationship." Crawford noted that it's been "fun" to figure out what her next chapter with Rande looks like. She also revealed that she's "looking forward" to becoming a grandmother someday. "I'm at the age where a lot of my friends are starting to have grandkids, and even though I don't think either one of my kids is close, I do hope I get to experience that, because it looks really fun," she said. Ahead of his death, Presley spoke candidly about his struggles with mental health and substance abuse. In what would become his final public appearance, Presley was joined by his parents at the We Are ENOUGH x Aviator Nation launch event at Aviator Nation Dreamland in Malibu on June 11, where he opened up about his journey. "The most free I felt was when I was finally honest with myself," he said at the time. Cindy Crawford's Heartfelt Message to Presley Gerber Before His Tragic Passing

Just two months before the tragic death of her son, aged just 27, supermodel Cindy Crawford shared a tear-jerking message wishing her “little boy” a happy birthday. On Sunday, September 20, Presley Gerber, who had battled addiction for years, passed away at an unknown rehab centre. Cindy called her late son her "little boy" In July, his A-list mom, Cindy, shared a sweet birthday message with pictures of her only son when he was much younger. The caption read: “Happy birthday I’m so proud of the man you’ve become, but I’ll always see you as my little boy! Love you.” Presley Gerber died at age 27. Credit: Gilbert Flores / Getty Presley was the only son of Cindy, 69, and her businessman husband, Rande Gerber, and the older brother of model-actor Kaia Gerber . After Presley publicly announced four months ago that he was undergoing treatment for addiction, Cindy labelled her son as a “warrior”. In the social media announcement, Presley announced he had “faced” what he was running from and was “finding” his “way back”. In the comment section, his mom Cindy commented: “You are a warrior! Walked thru fire to find yourself! So proud!” Saturday Night star and global supermodel sister, Kaia, added: “That’s my brother I am so damn proud.” His dad, founder of Casamigos tequila, Rande Gerber, also shared his adoration for his son, commenting: “I’m so proud of you and your courage. Facing what’s hard takes real strength, and watching you find your way back to yourself is everything. I love you so much.” Like his mom and sister, Presley followed in his mum’s footsteps and began modelling at age 15 in 2015. His runway debut was for Italian label Moschino; Presley went on to model for brands including Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, and Bottega Veneta. In 2024, the late model first opened up about his substance abuse by recalling a near-fatal fentanyl overdose. Shortly after, he checked into rehab to undergo treatment. She explained: “When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone.” “We have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone.’ There’s only so much you can hide from the world. “And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them.” Featured image credit: Gilbert Flores / Getty

Carrot Top's Hospitalization: The Truth Behind His Sudden Absence New

Carrot Top's Hospitalization: The Truth Behind His Sudden Absence

A representative for Scott “Carrot Top” Thompson is reportedly giving an update on the comedian’s condition as he remains hospitalized following an alleged suicide attempt. “Scott remains hospitalized and under close medical care,” Jami Schlicher, Carrot Top’s rep, told Entertainment Weekly in a Sunday, September 20, statement. “He is now awake, breathing on his own and continuing to improve, surrounded by his family and those closest to him.” The statement reportedly continued, “Humor has always been such an important part of who Scott is and how he connects with people, and that remains true today as he shares moments of humor with the medical staff caring for him. Many messages from fans have been shared with Scott, including stories from people about how his comedy helped them through difficult periods in their own lives.” Us has reached out to Schlicher for additional comment. Carrot Top, 61, was reportedly hospitalized in Las Vegas on Friday, September 18, after what has since been reported as a suicide attempt. As a result, his Friday and Saturday comedy shows were subsequently canceled. (Carrot Top has headlined a residency at Las Vegas’ Luxor Casino since 2005.) “Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs,” Schlicher said in a statement shortly after the alleged incident, confirming the comedy star’s hospital stay. “His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy.” Days later, Debbie Gibson— a close friend of the long-time Las Vegas comedian — shared her public support for her pal, revealing she tried to contact him just days before his hospitalization. “Sometimes it’s the ones who make us laugh the hardest who are hurting the most. Sending love to you, Scott @carrottoplive,” Gibson, 56, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, September 20, also citing the comedian’s real name in her public post. “Scott Thompson a.k.a. Carrot Top is one of those people who will send you a video message at some random time just to let you know he’s thinking of you and to put a smile on your face.” She continued, “I hadn’t heard from him in a little longer than usual, so [I] reached out literally two days ago. I figured he’d reply this week as he often does post-show weekend, so I didn’t think anything of it when I didn’t hear back right away.” Other fans and friends were also quick to share their public support of the comedian during his medical emergency, including former Everybody Loves Raymond star Brad Garrett. “Oh my beautiful, talented friend @carrottoplive. We’re ALL thanking our lucky stars that you’re OK,” Garrett, 66, also wrote via Instagram on Saturday, alongside a photo with Carrot Top and Ray Romano. “Please take this time to remember how appreciated and loved you are by so many.” He continued, “We’re here for you. We need you OK. YOU need you OK. Whatever it takes, we’re here for you. You’re getting a second chance for a reason. Use it wisely. We need folks like you around. Show yourself grace. We love you.” If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available. Call or text 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org.

MetLife Stadium's Traffic Woes: Why Fans Are Dreading Game Days New

MetLife Stadium's Traffic Woes: Why Fans Are Dreading Game Days

Fans heading to MetLife Stadium are in for a game-day nightmare. The New York Giants and New York Jets share the East Rutherford venue as their home field — and it’s home to some of the worst overall traffic conditions on NFL game days, according to a recent study.New research analyzed gridlock data around all 30 NFL stadiums to rank every venue by game-day traffic congestion. The study, conducted by Betpack, evaluated traffic data within a one-kilometer radius of each arena. Stadiums were scored on three key metrics: congestion level, average speed, and travel time per 6.2 miles, which were combined into an overall Congestion Score. An aerial view of MetLife Stadium for a past New York Jets game. Getty ImagesCongestion levels measure how much longer journeys take in traffic compared to free-flow conditions. Betpack calculates this by comparing observed traffic speeds with standard speeds when roads are clear.MetLife Stadium landed near the top of the list as the sixth-most congested NFL stadium, earning an overall traffic score of 72.4 out of 100.On game days, congestion around the arena surges 212.7% above baseline traffic, with average speeds dropping to just 13.4 mph. As a result, navigating six miles of surrounding traffic takes a grueling 27.7 minutes.MetLife’s traffic issue isn’t novel. A Fall 2025 ranking by Pickswise painted an even grimmer picture, rating MetLife as the second-worst stadium for game-day traffic with a score of 30.3 out of 100. That study found East Rutherford had the longest peak travel times, taking fans 38 minutes and 56 seconds to drive just 10 kilometers — nearly 10 minutes longer than at any other stadium.Bad news for those with MetLife season tickets this year. Getty ImagesNissan Stadium, home of the Tennessee Titans, posted the worst overall traffic score, where crawling six miles through game-day congestion takes 60.5 minutes. Rounding out the top five worst stadiums for traffic were Soldier Field (Chicago Bears), Empower Field at Mile High (Denver Broncos), Huntington Bank Field (Cleveland Browns), and Bank of America Stadium (Carolina Panthers).“This was the 8th NFL stadium I have been to and the worst to get in or out of. Parking was awful and disorganized,” one TripAdvisor reviewer wrote of MetLife.Another fan who attended the soccer match between Barcelona and Real Madrid at the stadium dubbed it the “worst stadium they had ever visited,” adding, “After the game, it took us almost 1.5 hours just to get from the parking lot to the highway (less than 1 mile away). No exaggeration.”Traffic near the New York New Jersey Stadium, ahead of England’s game against Panama in July for the FIFA World Cup 2026. PA Images via Getty ImagesThe gridlock isn’t limited to football games. Major event goers and World Cup fans have previously been urged to use transit options like NJ Transit as traffic alerts were put in place to manage the severe delays. As for the NFL stadium with the least congestion, the Betpack study found Arrowhead Stadium, home of the Kansas City Chiefs, recorded the lowest overall traffic score at just 2.0 out of 100.With both New York football teams starting the season with rare, promising 1-0 records, traffic near MetLife may only get tighter as the 2026 season unfolds.

I continue to explore whatever is going to best help me stay safe and happy and healthy on all levels,” she noted. “Life is full of layers that nobody sees. There is no stigma in prioritizing your mental and emotional well being at all times!!!” Gibson concluded, “This is a safe space and a loving community for all of you going through whatever you’re going through.” If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available. California Missionary's Harrowing Kidnapping Story Sparks Emotional Reactions New

California Missionary's Harrowing Kidnapping Story Sparks Emotional Reactions

A California missionary worker kidnapped and tortured in Africa for six years has released fresh details about his experience in a new book.“All the Way Home” — released last week — recounts Jeff Woodke’s kidnapping, harrowing captivity and his struggle to rebuild his life after returning home. The 65-year-old from McKinleyville, Northern California, who was held hostage by a West African Al Qaida-linked terror group, is warning others to be wary of the region.Jeff Woodke, with his wife Els, is now warning others to be wary of Niger, where he was kidnapped and held hostage. APWoodke described being beaten, drugged and dragged into captivity after armed men stormed his home in Niger in October 2016.“They just beat the stuffing out of me and drugged me, threw me in their vehicle,” Woodke said, recalling the attack in an interview with The Christian Post.He said the assault left indentations in his skull.Woodke had spent decades working with vulnerable communities in Niger and was nearing retirement when militants arrived at his home in the town of Abalak. He said the attackers chased him as he tried to flee, striking him with rifle butts before a blow to his leg severed his Achilles tendon.Woodke was then stripped and driven into the desert, where he said he was eventually sold between militant groups.Woodke was released on March 20, 2023, after more than six years in captivity, the Biden administration said at the time. Substack/@@ransomedprose“I was trafficked,” he said. “That’s what I was. I was kidnapped, and I was sold, and I was the property of another human being, or at least they thought I was.”Woodke was released on March 20, 2023, after more than six years in captivity, the Biden administration said at the time.He was taken from Niger to neighboring Mali, where he was believed to have been held by a terrorist network.A senior administration official said Woodke was released near the Mali-Burkina Faso area and that there had been “no quid pro quo” with his captors. The official said the US government did not directly negotiate with a terrorist organization, pay a ransom or make a concession in exchange for Woodke’s freedom.French journalist Olivier Dubois, third left, freed nearly two years after he was kidnapped by the Support Group for Islam and Muslims in Mali, and Woodke, right, freed after being kidnapped in 2016. AFP via Getty ImagesHe was handed over to special forces from a third-party nation before being transferred to US diplomatic personnel in Niamey, Niger.Much of his captivity was spent in brutal conditions, including periods when his ankles were shackled and he was forced to sleep on the ground in the scorching West African desert.During rainy periods, he said he was left outside as floodwaters swept through the area. His food was largely limited to basic staples such as rice, dough, red sauce and occasional dried goat meat. The book recounts his return to his wife, adult children and grandchildren, while confronting memories of captivity and the psychological consequences of what he had endured. He recalled his captors confining him inside a cramped box for about two months. The enclosure measured roughly 4ft by 4ft — leaving Woodke unable to stand upright.“They would not even speak with me just to try and break me,” he told the outlet. “There was a psychological dissociation, complete dissociation. I basically went nuts for a while. Lost time. Lost a lot.”The home of Woodke in Abalak, in the Tahoua region of Niger, from where the aid worker was kidnapped. AFP via Getty ImagesHis prolonged isolation and abuse eventually left him so physically weak that he could no longer walk. At one point, Woodke said he went on a hunger strike and said he prayed for God to kill him.“I kind of lost my religion, but I gained my faith,” he said. That struggle with faith is a central theme of “All the Way Home.” The book describes Woodke’s experience as one of profound suffering, but also as a testimony to the faith and hope he says sustained him through captivity.Woodke said he feared his family could have died during the COVID-19 pandemic because he had received so little information from the outside world. He also had to relearn how to function after years as a hostage.A video grab made in October 2016 shows Woodke during a ceremony to introduce his NGO in Abalak. AFP via Getty ImagesIn his memoir, Woodke describes coming home after six and a half years away and confronting the lasting effects of his captivity, including PTSD and the challenge of rebuilding his life after years of isolation and uncertainty. His experience has since shaped his warnings to Western missionaries considering work in dangerous parts of the Sahel.“If they go in there right now, they’re just going to get taken hostage again.”Woodke said he ultimately believes the cycle of extremism and hatred cannot be defeated through rhetoric alone.“The only way we’re going to conquer it is not through politics and rhetoric and dogma and exclusion, but through love.”The response to Woodke’s book has been very emotional. “I could not help but have tears in my eyes,” one reader online wrote. “This is not a light read and the author wrestles with heavy life and death questions. I recommend anyone of faith or curious about surviving challenging times in extreme circumstance, to read and/or listen to this book.” “What impacted me most was Jeff’s choice to forgive his captors. In the midst of circumstances most of us could never even imagine surviving, he chose forgiveness,” another said. CT Tamburello and Phaedra Parks' Surprising Romance: Opposites Attract New

CT Tamburello and Phaedra Parks' Surprising Romance: Opposites Attract

The Challenge star CT Tamburello is revealing new details about his surprising romance with The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Phaedra Parks. “I’ll say — I don’t want to jinx it — but I’ll say we’re in a good place,” CT, 46, exclusively told Us on Saturday, September 19, while walking the UFC 331 on Paramount+ red carpet outside Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Phaedra, 52, shocked the Bravoverse and MTV world alike when she confirmed her once-platonic relationship with CT had turned romantic. The pair later made their red carpet couple debut while attending 2026 Creative Arts Emmys on September 5. “It’s definitely the real deal, and they’re really smitten with each other,” a source exclusively shared with Us shortly after their romance went public. “They became really close on The Traitors, but CT never thought he actually had a chance with Phaedra.” The couple met in 2023, while filming season 2 of Peacock’s hit reality show. Although the pair grabbed the attention of viewers with their palpable chemistry, which included Phaedra’s loving “castle daddy” nickname for CT, their platonic relationship didn’t evolve until recently. “He always had a bit of a crush on her and was interested, but he really valued their friendship and never wanted to cross that line,” the source said. “After his marriage ended, he and Phaedra started talking a lot more, and their relationship naturally grew from there.” (CT and his estranged wife, Catalina White, got married in 2024. She filed for divorce in January but later requested to dismiss the motion. Months later, in June, CT filed his own petition, claiming the pair’s marriage “is irretrievably broken.”) The source continued, “Most of their relationship has been long-distance so far, but they have made it work and travel to see each other.” When speaking to Us on Saturday, CT opened up about the pair’s long-distance romance and why — for now — he thinks it’s the perfect setup. “I know I’m crazy in my own right. It’s probably for the best if I’m not around her every day, to be honest,” CT dished. “But she’s amazing. She really is. The way I would describe it is like Paula Abdul, ‘Opposites Attract.’ You remember that old video? That’s us, you know?” While the reality TV star is obviously giddy about his new romance, he told Us he has learned that some things are best kept secret. “I mean, contrary to popular belief, I do learn,” he joked. “Maybe a slower learner, but I do learn, and some things are better left unsaid and I think oversharing can be a bad thing.” One thing CT is willing to share, however, is the thing he appreciates the most about his new girlfriend. “With her, she just brings peace,” he said. “It’s easy to just stay calm around her.”

Ed Sheeran Breaks Down as Family and Friends Turn Away Amid Tour Drama

Ed Sheeran said he’s lost family and close friends after igniting controversy due to Macklemore getting kicked off his Loop Tour over the rapper’s pro-Palestine comments. The devastated musician broke down in tears and sat cross-legged onstage at one point during his concert at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia Saturday night, reflecting on the week in which all his opening acts quit — including his own backing band — in solidarity with Macklemore.“In these situations you really find out who your friends are. It’s been a weird week,” he told the crowd in video captured by a fan. “It happened very quickly. At the same time, I had so many people telling me to cancel this tour and so many people I’ve known for years and years and years they’re kind of backing away.”“In the back of my mind, I saw the ticket sales for this gig and I didn’t see cancellations, I saw people buying tickets for this gig,” he continued as the crowd started to cheer. “Everyone’s telling me to cancel and I’m feeling all of my friends and family and people I know abandon me.”Ed Sheeran emotionally said during his Sept. 19 show at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia that he felt his friends and family abandoned him after the Macklemore “Free Palestine” controversy. / SplashNews.comThe singer broke down in tears onstage. / SplashNews.comBut the “Thinking Out Loud” singer said he was performing for his fans.“I look at the end of the week and I see 50,000 people who haven’t abandoned me,” he noted. “People will say what they want, but I am doing this for you. I love you. I love this.”He called the concert the best show of his life, but called the past week one of the worst weeks he’d experienced. He later cried as he said that he felt so much love from the audience, after he was initially worried about his safety and that people would boo him.“The world is a scary place right now, America is a scary place right now,” he said, before pointing to the audience and noting, “This gives hope.”He told the audience, “In these situations you really find out who your friends are.” / SplashNews.comHe also shared, “Everyone’s telling me to cancel and I’m feeling all of my friends and family and people I know abandon me.” / SplashNews.comAhead of the show, Sheeran, 35, took drastic security measures because he feared people would throw things at him onstage.“At this point in the show, to be honest, I usually go out on the B stage,” he said,“I apologize that today is not the usual Loop show,” he continued. “I took the B stage out because was afraid of what might happen if I stood in the middle. He called on Robert Kraft, the billionaire owner of the New England Patriots and Kraft Group, to match his donation.Kraft, who owns Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachasetts, and was one of the stadium owners who refused to let the “Thrift Shop” rapper perform after his “Free Palestine” speech, donated $2 million after he said Sheeran asked him to. In a statement about the massive donation, Kraft, 85, insisted that he’s dedicated his life to trying to help people come together and believes that “all lives are worth protecting.”Sheeran’s next tour dates are Sept. 25 and Sept. 26 at Kraft’s Gillette Stadium. Jamie Lynn Spears Opens Up After 'Sweet Magnolias' Cancellation New

Jamie Lynn Spears Opens Up After 'Sweet Magnolias' Cancellation

Jamie Lynn Spears is speaking out after the shocking cancellation of Netflix’s hit dramedy Sweet Magnolias. “I can’t put into words how much the people who make up our Sweet Mags family mean to me, and that’s not just the producers, cast, crew & @Netflix who are like actual family at this point, but also each of you who watched and became a part of our family as well,” Spears, 35, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, September 20. “It’s so rare to have five seasons straight be #1 around the whole world, in a business where getting a 2nd season of anything is almost impossible these days.” Netflix announced on Friday, September 18, that Sweet Magnolias was canceled and there would not be a sixth season of the show. Spears, for her part, starred as Noreen, a nurse new to Serenity, South Carolina, who has an affair with her boss, Dr. Bill Townsend (Chris Klein). Before Noreen and Bill welcomed their daughter, Rebecca, the town pediatrician divorced wife Maddie Townsend (Joanna Garcia Swisher). Noreen and Maddie eventually bonded after Bill’s death, each also finding new love interests. Sweet Magnolias was Spears’ return to Hollywood after taking a break from the cameras to focus on raising her children. (Spears shares daughter Maddie, 18, with ex Casey Aldridge and daughter Ivey, 8, with husband Jamie Watson.) “Maddie was in middle school and Ivey was a little baby, still breast-feeding when the producers were just crazy enough to give this insecure but hopeful young mama a chance,” Spears recalled on Sunday of being cast on Sweet Magnolias season 1. “Little did they know they were actually giving a part of myself ‘life’ again, a part of myself I desperately needed and it healed me in ways that allowed me to grow as an actress, but most importantly as a person and a mother.” She continued, “I was given the gift of being able to provide for my family, doing something I was proud of, surrounded by people I respected and loved while creating something we all valued. I owe it all to each and every person who loved Serenity, and the people who made it what it was.” The Zoey 101 alum further thanked the show creators and fans alike for allowing her to “be a part of this magical family.” “That’s something that will never end ,” Spears concluded. Spears’ remarks particularly hit home for costars, including Garcia Swisher, 47. “I love you so much,” the Reba alum replied in the comments section. “You’re a gift! And forever my family.” All five seasons of Sweet Magnolias are currently streaming on Netflix.

Charles Spencer's Bold Claims About Prince Harry Echo Princess Diana's Past

Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, sees “echoes” of what happened to his late sister in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s treatment by the public.“If you look at an article in a tabloid about Diana or the couple that you’re mentioning, Harry and Meghan, they can be really, really unpleasant,” the 9th Earl Spencer pointed out to the BBC in a Sunday interview about his forthcoming book, “Swan Song: Diana, My Sister.”“I think it would be really beholden on people to learn from Diana’s example,” he continued, referencing his sister’s death in August 1997 at age 36.Charles Spencer compared Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s treatment by the public to his sister Princess Diana’s experience in an interview this weekend. BBCThe 9th Earl Spencer (pictured above with Harry in July 2021) railed against “unpleasant” stories about his nephew’s family. Additionally, the deadline-making excerpts of the tell-all that have been making headlines all week were not “a shock” to him.In the book, Spencer alleged King Charles III, who was divorced from Diana at the time of her death, sounded “giddily elated like a lottery winner” after her fatal crash. He also wrote that the now-monarch, 77, vowed that his former spouse would be “forgotten soon enough.”In the book, Spencer (pictured above on Sept. 10) bashes Charles — and stood by this decision in his BBC sit-down. charles.earl.spencer/instagramSpencer’s memoir, “Swan Song: Diana, My Sister,” comes out Tuesday. via REUTERSCharles hit back at the claims in a statement about how “the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and color memory in ways others do not recognize, even many years after such a loss.”Spencer, meanwhile, doubled down during his conversation with the BBC, insisting he was “telling the truth” about the “monstrous” comments.“I can tell you here and now, those are exactly the words he said,” he alleged. “I was hyper alert to what he was saying and those are precisely the words that he said and I promise that to you now. Ole Miss Fans' Fiery Chant Against Lane Kiffin Stuns College GameDay

Ole Miss Fans' Fiery Chant Against Lane Kiffin Stuns College GameDay

College GameDay cohost Pat McAfee was momentarily speechless on live TV when Ole Miss fans made their feelings about former coach Lane Kiffin all too clear. “Whatever you think about today, you can’t help but…,” McAfee, 39, trailed off on ESPN’s coverage as Ole Miss supporters began chanting “F*** Lane Kiffin” on Saturday, September 19. With the booming chants getting louder, McAfee quipped, “OK … that wasn’t what I was thinking! It’s certainly what a lot of them are thinking!” Saturday’s college football game between Ole Miss and LSU at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi, marked the first time Kiffin, 51, returned to the venue since he left his head coaching job to lead the LSU Tigers. “Lane Kiffin, he hopped in a truck and went right down to Baton Rouge. Now, he hopped in a couple trucks to head right back here to Oxford,” McAfee joked on College GameDay. The coach announced his departure from Oxford in November 2025 after leading the Rebels to an 11-1 regular season. At the time, Ole Miss was preparing for its first College Football Playoff appearance. “After a lot of prayer and time spent with family, I made the difficult decision to accept the head coaching position at LSU,” Kiffin announced last November. Kiffin said that he’d hoped to “complete a historic six season run” with Ole Miss through the playoffs so he could honor “the team's incredible success and their commitment to finish strong.” “My request to do so was denied by [athletic director] Keith Carter despite the team also asking him to allow me to keep coaching them so they could better maintain their high level of performance,” he added. In the aftermath of his Ole Miss exit, Kiffin told ESPN in July that he regretted the way his move to LSU was handled. “I think that's a good thing that I look at life that way now, instead of saying, 'No, I don't. I was right,’” he argued. “I look at things always now, like, how could I have done them better? But it's also easier when you're further removed. There's no emotion involved.” Tensions are still running high on the Ole Miss campus, with Kiffin telling reporters that there were “real safety issues and stuff” ahead of Saturday’s game. “There’s people that have a plan for that, it is what it is,” Kiffin said in a press conference on Monday, September 14. “But I told the players today, you don’t have anything to worry about as far as attention on you all week. There’s so much attention and hatred on me, you just get to go play.” Lane’s daughter Landry — who is a student at Ole Miss — spoke out earlier this week to condemn vulgar banners from around the campus relating to her and a former Rebels football player. (Landry is actually dating LSU linebacker Whit Weeks.) “I’m still a student at Ole Miss. I’ve loved my time here, and I love Ole Miss. So that’s what kind of makes this all even more upsetting,” Landry, 21, explained via TikTok on Wednesday, September 16. “I opened my phone this morning to pictures of banners on houses around Oxford posted on different accounts saying really inappropriate things about me and with somebody that genuinely I have never met in my life, which makes it even more frustrating to say the least.” She pointed out that “turning a girl into the punch line of a sexual joke” should never be acceptable. “I understand emotions are high this week and people are upset, but I am my own person,” she told viewers. “I’ll just never understand how someone can feel good about themselves putting such vulgar things about a girl on a giant banner hanging from their house. I feel like that’s really mind-blowing to me. I just hope people realize there is an actual person behind the jokes that they make.”
