Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Stirs Conversations with Personal Egg-Freezing Decision

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is revealing a new chapter in her private life as she continues to represent New York City’s 14th congressional district.

“Hey everyone, it’s been a minute since I’ve posted to stories, but I think it’s a good time to kind of dive back in again — it’s August recess and I think it’s good for you all to hear a little bit more from me directly,” the congresswoman, 36, said via her Instagram Stories on Saturday, August, 8, adding that she is “having some things happen” in her life that she wants to “share more” with her followers amid her "reflective mood.”

“I want to share with you all a decision that is very personal that I have made that has taken me time to consider, weigh and save up for,” she continued, “And it is of a sensitive matter and a personal matter and usually I keep my private life quite private, but I have made the decision to start freezing my eggs.”
