Hayden Panettiere' s official cause of death has been revealed. The late actress died on August 16 in Greenville, South Carolina, just days before what would have been her 37th birthday. Panettiere was best known for roles in Heroes, Nashville, Scream 4, and Scream VI.

Her father, Skip Panettiere, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement to ABC News . "It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her - and to the millions who watched her onscreen,” her father said.
