The owner of the eatery known for its baklava and kebabs decided not to involve the police and post the four customers on social media after cops failed to nab a group of five dine-and-dashers at her restaurant in 2024. “In my previous experience, calling the police didn’t work. There was no help, so I didn’t contact the police the second time,” Aldahash said.“These people came here and they intended to steal,” she said.Several angry locals backed the fed-up owner’s decision to broadcast the faces of the apparent family of four. President Trump was secretly whisked off Air Force One in an airport catering truck last month and departed Turkey on a separate military flight in response to a threat from Iran, according to a report. The secret mission, reported by the Washington Post on Monday, left journalists and even White House staff believing that they were on the same plane as the president when they departed the annual NATO Summit in Ankara on July 8.But in reality they served as a decoy while Trump traveled in a smaller, Air Force C-32A. The elaborate ruse saw Trump publicly board an older model of Air Force One before being smuggled out in a catering truck that had been lifted up to a door on the opposite side of the entrance to the presidential plane. The catering truck was positioned in front of a door on the opposite side of the entrance to Air Force One. AP Photo/Alex BrandonTrump was accompanied by “several aides” inside the container, which was lowered onto a truck on the tarmac and driven to the nearby Air Force C-32A plane, where the vessel was once again elevated up to a door, apparently allowing Trump and his aides to surreptitiously board the alternate plane.  Like the older model presidential plane, the C-32A was also blue-and-white and emblazoned with the words “United States of America,” according to the Washington Post. War Secretary Pete Hegseth was on the secret flight with Trump but boarded separately, using external stairs in an attempt “to make the flight appear typical,” a US official told the outlet. After departing Ankara, the C-32A carrying Trump landed in Mildenhall Air Force Base in the United Kingdom. The plane arrived about 9 minutes before reporters and White House staff aboard Air Force One landed at the same base. Television cameras and media reports note Trump descended the external stairs from Air Force One about 25 minutes after the plane landed. AP Photo/Alex BrandonThe White House on Monday night did not deny the report of Trump’s secret flight out of Turkey. When reached for comment about the report, White House communications director Steven Cheung touted the safety of the Qatari-gifted jet. “The new Air Force One is a state-of-the-art aircraft that has been fitted with high-level security protocols that ensure the safety of the President and his staff,” Cheung said in a statement. “As the President has said recently, there are many enemies of America who have their sights on him, and we use every tool at our disposal to address those threats.” The White House also pointed to a statement from the Air Force touting the so-called “palace in the sky” plane. “The aircraft is safe, secure and equipped with the most advanced technologies necessary to meet the requirements of the presidential mission,” read the statement. “Those requirements were carefully crafted to prioritize mission over aesthetics, leaving much of the previous head of state interior layout minimally changed. “No risk was taken in security, safety or mission communications, but the collective team made trades on some of the less commonly used mission sets that Boeing must deliver to support the next 40 years.”

I’m a very one-lane guy.” Shockey explained that he received his family/s blessing before obtaining  the vasectomy, including his mother Lucinda’s.  “I told her, ‘Mom, I signed a contract with this team, but I don’t know. They could trade me next year. So if I’m dating a girl here, I don’t need any of this, you know? I just need to be a horse with blinders,’” Jeremy recalled telling her.  Lucinda told Jeremy he had made “a great decision,” adding that her son could “save it in the sperm bank and you’ll be fine.” “My brother had kids, so I wasn’t yearning for that,” Jeremy further explained. During his six seasons with the Giants from 2002 to 2007, Jeremy said he didn’t have a single girlfriend, though he admitted to having a roughly month-long casual fling with model and actress, Vida Guerra, after meeting her on a Sports Illustrated photoshoot.  Jeremy has since had the vasectomy reversed, telling Sharpe, 58, “I want kids.” The ex NFL player was previously married to Daniela Cortazar, but he filed for divorce after eight months of marriage in 2012, saying the relationship was “irretrievably broken.” Following his tenure with the Giants, Jeremy played three seasons with the New Orleans Saints and his final NFL season with the Carolina Panthers in 2011.

Travis Barker can still recall the ominous warning his daughter Alabama Barker gave before he miraculously survived a deadly 2008 plane crash. Travis, 50, explained on the Monday, August 10, episode of the “On Purpose With Jay Shetty” podcast that he nearly skipped the trip after both he and Alabama felt uneasy about the flight. "I'd said to my manager, 'Is it too late to just pull out? I don't really need to do this,'" Travis remembered. "I was just so content with being home with the kiddos, and he's like, 'Bro, you can't cancel this late.' So, I ended up flying out there." At the time, the Blink-182 drummer had three young children at home. (Travis shares son Landon, 22, and daughter Alabama, 20, with ex-wife Shanna Moakler. He is also the stepfather to daughter Atiana De La Hoya, whom Moakler, 51, shares with ex Oscar De La Hoya. Travis and wife Kourtney Kardashian share one child, son Rocky, 2.) Alabama was only 2 years old when she seemingly had a premonition about the tragedy that would unfold on the return flight from his gig. "I say bye to Bama. She's young at the time," Travis shared. "She's like, 'Dad, don't go!' She's bawling and she doesn't usually do that. She's like, 'The roof's gonna come off,' and I'm like, 'What is she talking about?'" Despite his daughter’s haunting words, the musician and pal DJ AM flew to South Carolina to perform with Gavin DeGraw and Jane Addiction singer Perry Farrell. "I get there, play our show, and then we're supposed to leave the next morning," Travis said. "But everyone else that was with me was in a hurry to get home. So, we booked a private plane, super last minute." Travis explained that there are “usually a bunch of hoops to jump through” to book him a plane because he always has a lot of questions. “I was like, 'Who's the pilot? Has the plane been maintenanced?'" he recalled asking. "I want to know everything, and none of that stuff happened.” Travis remembered getting to the airport around 11 p.m. or midnight and it being “foggy” with “one plane in the distance that’s really small.” The whole situation didn’t sit well with the Meet the Barkers alum. "I had an awful feeling," he confessed, revealing he called his dad, Randy Barker, to express his concerns. "My dad was like, 'You're gonna be fine. Just get on the plane. Call me when you get home.'" Ultimately, Travis agreed to take the private plane — even with a nagging feeling in his gut. "I knew something feels off," he revealed. "I even told my dad, 'If something happens to me, please make sure the kids are taken care of.' I was saying way too much. All the signs were there." The plane crashed on their way home to California, killing the two pilots as well as Travis’ assistant Chris Baker and security guard Charles Still Jr. (Investigators later reported that pieces of the plane’s tires broke off and damaged the hydraulic system, resulting in the brakes failing and damage to the thrust reversers, per Billboard.) Travis and DJ AM (real name Adam Goldstein) survived the crash but both sustained serious burn injuries. Travis said his “whole body” caught on fire when he tried to escape the aircraft. "Older me would just say, 'I think I'm not going to get on the plane,'" Travis said on Monday. "Everything was there and I'd never felt like that before." Following the accident, Travis spent six months in the burn center and refused to travel by plane. He flew for the first time since the crash in August 2021 after he began dating Kardashian, 47. DJ AM, meanwhile, died from a drug overdose nearly one year after the deadly accident. He was 36.

Colombian influencer Sofia Murillo has died after she was involved in a helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She was 17. Murillo was with her mother, Wendy Manrique, and her grandmother, Rocio Cubillos, while riding in a four-seat helicopter with local tour agency Voo Rio Panorâmico near scenic outlook Vista Chinesa on Saturday, August 8, before the aircraft reportedly crashed into a wooded area and exploded, according to local outlet g1. The pilot, Alessandro Rocha, also died in the accident. Military personnel were called to the scene, where fire spread throughout the wooded hillside as a result of the crash. “The biggest challenge for the teams right now is access, both to enter and exit the site. The aircraft crashed in a very steep, wooded area with precipitous cliffs, where it is only possible to work using rope techniques and safety equipment,” Lieutenant Colonel Fábio Contreiras told g1 in a statement, translated from Portuguese to English. "When we arrived, in addition to the helicopter, there was also a fire caused by the explosion of the aircraft's fuel. That fire has now been completely extinguished.” The message concluded, “Now, our challenge is to find faster access routes to facilitate the work of the Civil Police and Cenipa forensics teams, as well as the future removal of the bodies. We are working to make this happen as soon as possible, preferably today.” Murillo’s uncle Victor Manrique told the local outlet that he was on vacation in Brazil with the three women, his wife and their 15-year-old daughter prior to the deadly incident. The family had booked a 20-minute scenic helicopter ride to see the Christ the Redeemer statue from the sky, g1 reported. While Murillo, Wendy, and Cubillos boarded the initial flight at 11 a.m. local time on Saturday, the other three family members waited in the hangar for a second aircraft. A lawyer for helicopter company Voo Rio Panorâmico reportedly shared in a statement to the press that it had yet to uncover a cause for the crash. The lawyer added that the company had permits to operate at the time and in the area, the aircraft’s maintenance was up-to-date and the pilot was licensed to fly, per g1. Rio de Janeiro’s Civil Police and Brazilian Air Force have reportedly opened investigations into the incident, per CNN Brasil. Murillo, who had more than 200,000 TikTok followers, was known for sharing her beauty tips online. Her last post on the platform was seemingly shared on Wednesday, August 5, showing her at the gym. The comments section of the video has since featured tributes to Murillo. “Rest in peace angel ��,” one user wrote, translated to English, while another added, “I'm going to miss your tips, Sofi. What Mark Zuckerberg's response to the megayacht claims? Representatives of the billionaire said that he was not onboard the craft, called The Launchpad, at the time of the incident. Zuckerberg's spokesperson Brian Baker said that the distress call made from the skiff was broadcast on a different radio channel to the one being used on the Launchpad at the time it ran out of fuel. He added that by the time the Launchpad's crew had seen the broadcast, another boat was already responding and on its way to help. The skiff was eventually rescued by the Wilderness Legacy, a cruise ship operated by UnCruise Adventures. AOC's Bold Move: Why Her Egg Freezing Journey Is Making Waves

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is breaking down the costs associated with freezing her eggs after revealing she’s taking control of her reproductive future. “Cutting straight to the chase, this was one of the things that was most stressful for me, as well, when I was considering doing this — is cost,” the congresswoman, 36, said in a video shared via her Instagram Stories on Sunday, August 9. “My insurance does not cover one penny of this. It is 100 percent out of pocket. It doesn’t go to my deductible — nothing. It covers nothing.” On Saturday, August 8, the Democrat representing New York City’s 14th congressional district revealed she had made the personal decision to freeze her eggs amid ongoing speculation she may one day be a frontrunner for the Democratic nominee for president. “I want to share with you all a decision that is very personal that I have made that has taken me time to consider, weigh and save up for,” she said in a video also shared via her Instagram Stories. “And it is of a sensitive matter and a personal matter and usually I keep my private life quite private, but I have made the decision to start freezing my eggs.” Ocasio-Cortez went on to break down her personal cost of the procedure, noting that it can vary depending on a variety of factors including the clinic type, where the patient lives, medication needed and insurance costs for those who can obtain coverage. “So, there are two main sources of costs,” she explained in her Sunday upload. “So you don’t just, like, pay one lump sum to the doctor — you pay for the medicine and then you also pay your clinic and for the procedure. So there’s two costs of it. Some places are very expensive — I am going to a place in New York City that specifically designs options for women who don’t have insurance covering it.” She added, “So the grand total personally, for me, all in, is going to be probably between $8,000 and $9,000.” Earlier on Sunday, Ocasio-Cortez made an appearance on ABC’s This Week, telling host Jonathan Karl why she decided to go public — and document the experience for her millions of social media followers — about her decision to freeze her eggs. “I think, um, it’s important for us to normalize these conversations, especially in this political environment,” she said. “This [Donald Trump] administration is denying reproductive care to women across the country, from abortion rights to the ability to carry out a healthy pregnancy. I think it’s important for us as leaders to have these conversations and share these processes, especially for working women across the country, and normalize them.” Currently, the United States is the only industrialized nation that does not mandate paid family leave, per the Pew Research Center. The country also has the worst maternal mortality rate of any developed nation — a rate that has only risen after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade, which granted pregnant people the Constitutional right to abortion access. States that have banned or severely restricted access to abortion have higher and rising rates of maternal and infant death, according to various studies. Intensive investigative reporting from various outlets has indicated that at least 12 pregnant women have died since Roe v Wade was overturned.

Ben Jones, who played Cooter Davenport on the classic TV series “The Dukes of Hazzard” and also served two terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, died on Sunday, according to a social media post from his wife. He was 84. “I lost the love of my life today. Ben passed from a massive heart attack,” Alma Viator wrote on Facebook Sunday, accompanied by a picture of the actor with his dog. “He was home resting in his favorite chair waiting for the Braves to come on and whoop the Yankees. Ben had the most amazing rich full life. He loved and was loved by so many. He will be missed.
