One aspect to egg-freezing in this process that, I think, really is under-discussed is that a lot of people don’t freeze their eggs for their first child,” she stated. “They may freeze their eggs for their second child or even a third child. People may want to space their kids out, people may want to start and have their first kid a little bit later. A mother of five killed by her ex-boyfriend in a murder-suicide died trying to protect her children, according to grieving family members.Xavier Harrison, 30, allegedly shot Danielle Rivera, 40, in front of her 16-year-old daughter outside of an abandoned American Legion post in southern Illinois and then turned the gun on himself just before midnight Saturday, KSDK reported.Police in Cahokia Heights said the pair were in a relationship, however Rivera’s loved ones insist the two had a history but were not dating. They claim Harrison had been harassing her for years.Rivera’s family believe she agreed to meet Harrison that night because she wanted to protect her children and mother, who lived with her.Danielle Rivera was killed in an apparent murder-suicide in Cahokia Heights, Ill. KSDK“The only way I can best describe it is if she didn’t go and pick him up, then he would’ve probably gone to her residence, and there would’ve been a lot more harm and tragedy than what occurred in that car,” Teresa Fiudo told KSDK.“We lost her,” Fiudo said. “But she died protecting her kids. She did what any mother would do.”“She basically put her life out there to save ours,” Rivera’s mother, Karen Rivera, said.Rivera’s 16-year-old daughter witnessed the shooting then “ran for her life” and called 911, according to Rivera’s niece, Aubrey Rivera.The slain mother previously obtained an order of protection against Harrison in March, but that order was dismissed weeks later in April, according to court documents reviewed by KSDK. The pair are said to be so serious that Henderson, 38, has relocated from Ohio to Wisconsin to be closer to Chris as they plan to wed. Henderson confirmed to the outlet that she was in a relationship with Chris while acknowledging their love story could be viewed as “weird.” Additionally, she shared that he is now a born-again Christian. Despite confirming their relationship, she did not reveal how she met Chris or how their relationship turned romantic. “How things began is between me, him and God,” she said. Henderson applied to legally change her name to Lizzie Watts in September 2025, according to court documents seen by the Daily Mail. She sparked marriage rumors when she was photographed wearing a ring on her wedding finger, while her former stepfather said that the couple submitted a marriage request to prison officials. Chris previously made headlines when he was convicted of killing Shanann, 34, and their daughters Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3, in August 2018. He pleaded guilty in November 2018 and was sentenced to serve five consecutive life sentences. Lisa Johnson, who was visiting a loved one at Dodge Correctional Institution (DCI) in Waupun, Wisconsin, said she saw Chris and Henderson making out during a visit in August 2025. Johnson, 39, told the outlet that Chris was holding a Bible while speaking to Henderson. She added that Henderson was “googly-eyed” and seemed “really excited to take a picture with him.” Inmates at DCI are prohibited from having any physical contact with loved ones until the end of the visit. Once it is time for the visitor to leave, they are given 10 seconds to embrace. Meanwhile, conjugal visits are not allowed. Johnson said that Chris and Henderson “hugged their whole ten seconds while they were kissing.” When it comes to submitting requests to marry, prisoners at DCI must meet strict criteria and receive formal approval from the warden in order to move forward with nuptials. News of Chris’ new romance comes after his second mistress, Amanda McMahon, candidly discussed her relationship with the killer while speaking to The Daily Mail in July. After explaining that they met on Tinder while he was still married to Shanann, she said that he exhibited many red flags including that his “sweetness” was “very fake.” The pair ended their romance in March 2018, which was five months before the killings. During his trial, prosecutors revealed that Chris was having an affair with coworker Nichol Kessinger at the time of the killings.
