New York’s controversial assisted suicide law went into effect on Wednesday, allowing terminally-ill adults to request life-ending medication from their doctors.The “Medical Aid in Dying Act,” signed by Gov. The self-administered euthanasia meds are only legal for patients who are 18 years or older and have a terminal prognosis that would likely end their life within six months.“Terminally ill New Yorkers with fewer than six months to live deserve the right to die with dignity,” said Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal, who sponsored the bill’s 2025 iteration as a state senator. “Today is a historic day for compassion, dignity, and personal autonomy in New York State,” he said. New Yorkers seeking the life-ending treatment have to make both a written and verbal request to their health care provider and be of sound mind, and also must be physically able to self-administer the drug.Gov. Big Brother’s longest-running couple, Jeff Schroeder and Jordan Lloyd, are shamelessly living their best life in the Centennial State. “I love living here in Colorado. This is the best place to raise your kids,” Jordan, 39, exclusively told Us on July 31 when celebrating the success of her “Togethermess” podcast with Jeff, 48. “It's the best place. When we first moved here, we didn't know anything about Colorado. I couldn't believe how much there was to do when the kids are little.” Jeff and Jordan — who share two sons — first met on season 11 of Big Brother in 2009. They went on to compete on The Amazing Race and married in March 2016. While the couple have their fond memories of life in the Hollywood spotlight, Colorado turned out to be the perfect place to raise their boys. “The kids have that '90s living where we're at. We live in a cul-de-sac. All of our neighbors are super tight. We all get along,” Jordan shared. “We all sit in our driveways in lawn chairs, have our drinks and our kids play. Some people might think I'm exaggerating, but that is exactly how it is with us.” Jeff added, “Everyone who comes to visit us, when they see the kids outside, they say, ‘When I pull up, I get so jealous.’ Some of my friends in Los Angeles come and go, ‘This doesn’t happen in Los Angeles.’ I like that we’re raising our kids the old school way.” While viewers are used to seeing showmances blossom inside the Big Brother house each and every summer, Jeff and Jordan arguably exceeded fans’ expectations when they celebrated 10 years of marriage. Perez Hilton has been transported to a Florida hospital after a disturbing livestream in which he appeared to commit self-harm, according to police. “The individual has been safely recovered and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention,” the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office told TMZ, CNN and more in a statement late Tuesday, August 4. “The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Crisis Response Unit and Licensed Mental Health Professionals are also on scene providing support and resources to the individual's family,” the statement added. While the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office did not name Hilton, 48, neighbors at the scene told NBC6 that they believe the person is Hilton. Earlier on Tuesday, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office confirmed it had “received multiple calls regarding an individual who was live-streaming acts of self-harm on social media.” “Deputies quickly located the individual’s residence, where they spoke with family members on scene and confirmed he was alone inside,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement to outlets including TMZ. The statement continued, “In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritize deescalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication.” “At this time, deputies have tactfully disengaged while continuing to monitor the situation,” the statement concluded. During a TikTok livestream on Tuesday, Hilton appeared naked, covered in blood and seemingly committing acts of self-harm. His account has since been taken down. “We are aware of the concerning content circulating online involving our client, Perez Hilton. At this time, we have not been able to make direct contact with him, despite our ongoing efforts to reach him. Our primary concern is Perez’s health and well-being, as well as the well-being of his family. Until we have confirmed information, we will not speculate or comment further,” Hilton’s managers, Golden Artists Entertainment co-CEOs Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan, said in a statement to TMZ and Variety. “We appreciate everyone’s concern and ask that his privacy be respected during this time.” Us has reached out to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and Hilton’s management for further comment. For passengers on the budget Australian airline Jetstar, the days of cramming your bag into an overhead locker already full of your seatmates’ full-sized suitcases are coming to an end, but there’s a catch.The carrier will charge passengers for stowing carry-on bags in the overhead compartments, beginning in February 2027.The move came after passengers and airline staff named “having bags weighed at the gate and struggling to find room in overhead lockers as the more stressful parts of the airport experience,” the carrier said in a statement on Wednesday.Australian budget airline Jetstar will soon charge passengers to use overhead compartments for carry-on bags. It was spending a lot of time below the surface, for the most part. But then we also saw some of those lunge feeds where it comes up out of the water,” St. Lawrence said.“These animals are here to put on weight, especially those juveniles. They’re looking to get as much food as possible to grow as quickly as possible, to put on those fat layers so that if they want to, they can migrate back down south for the winter.”The whales are identified by their distinctive flukes, or tails. Joe Jonas will make his debut as a coach on the singing competition alongside Queen Latifah and Riley Green, who will also appear on season 30 of The Voice this fall. Like the original series fans have come to know and love, The Voice: Celebrity will search for undiscovered talent — this time from actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians and reality stars — to crown one champion at the end of the competition. The new series marks an unprecedented first as Daly has hosted The Voice for all 30 seasons over the last 15 years. The NBC hit kicks off its milestone 30th season on Monday, September 30, where Daly will emcee alongside returning coaches Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson, as well as newcomers Latifah andGreen. After 28 seasons as host, Daly was given a special “Carson Callback Card” to give one artist who didn’t receive any chair turns in the Blind Auctions a redo. He bestowed the honor on rocker Ryan Mitchell, who ultimately made it on Team Reba McEntire. (Aiden Ross from Niall Horan’s team, however, won the trophy.) “We started a new twist,” the former TRL personality said on the Today show in September 2025. “I had the ability to give one of our artists a second chance. This season … there was a young man who caught my eye when he went out there. [He] was so close to getting a chair turn, [but] nothing happened; he didn’t make it. I still knew Ryan Mitchell deserved the first-ever ‘Carson Callback Card.’” In addition to The Voice, Daly also coanchors Today and hosts his own radio show. “The Voice is an anomaly. I mean, that’s great, but you can’t live your life in this business buying into that,” he told Vulture in 2012 of staying busy amid the singing show’s success. “I hope The Voice has a fifteen-year run, don’t get me wrong, but I come from nothing, and maybe it’s the Irish in me, but my attitude is always like, ‘They’ll figure me out soon. Always assume the worst, and hope for the best.’ That’s like my living motto.” Daly noted at the time that he had pitched NBC “a bunch” of other gig ideas amid popularity of his late-night show, Last Call With Carson Daly, which was eventually canceled in 2019 after 17 seasons. “It’s really great because it feels like I get to yin and yang it. Selfishly, it’s job security,” he quipped to the outlet of working on both programs. “Getting back to that, I keep it simple: I don’t drink the Kool-aid, and I’m going to stay working. It’s the best of both worlds because I think when The Voice took off, a lot of the people on my late-night show thought, ‘Oh, boy. There goes Carson.’ One of the things I was quick to reassure everyone in late-night was to remind them of my loyalty.” He continued at the time, “[The Voice has] enabled me to breathe life back into the late-night show, and in return, they asked me to do the Golden Globes preshow, which is another show I probably wouldn’t normally do. I mean, I’m not a big fan of the red carpet.” Palmer, meanwhile, has plenty of hosting experience herself, having joined the NBC reboot of Password in 2022. She won the 2024 Emmy for Outstanding Host for a Game Show, becoming the first Black woman — and the first woman in 15 years — to take home the honor.
