Josh Duhamel Praises Wife Audra's Bond with Son Axl: A Heartwarming Connection

Josh Duhamel Praises Wife Audra's Bond with Son Axl: A Heartwarming Connection

Josh Duhamel has no doubt that he found a special one in his wife, Audra Mari. “Well, first of all, she's an amazing mom. I mean, I knew that early on when we first started dating,” Josh, 53, exclusively told Us on October 15 while partnering with STOKE Shoes. “I was like, ‘This girl is mommy material.’ Not only is she beautiful, but she's such a natural mother and not just for our kids, but for Axl too.” Josh became a father in 2013 when his then-wife, Fergie, welcomed a baby boy named Axl. After his marriage came to an end in 2019, the actor met Audra, 32. The pair married in September 2022 and welcomed son Shepherd in January 2024 and daughter Rocca in May. “It's amazing how much she's sort of taken [Axl] on as her own in a lot of ways,” Josh shared with Us. “She'll never be his mother — and she would never try to be — but she loves him like her own. I think that it’s been really, really beautiful to watch. I'm very lucky to have a woman who cares so much and makes motherhood such a priority because she's a natural at it for sure.” As an added bonus, Josh previously shared on a March episode of the “Skinny Confidential” podcast that he has a “very kind” coparenting relationship with Fergie, 51, and the Grammy winner has a “good relationship” with Audra. While Josh has certainly excelled at raising boys, everything changed this spring when he became a girl dad for the first time. “This little thing is just — I'm not even kidding you — she's just so sweet,” he said about his daughter. “She wakes up from a two-hour nap, and the first thing she does is put a big old smile on her face. She's been a very welcome addition in this house. She's a little ray of sunshine, and we're very, very much in love with her.” When three kids are at home, the Ransom Canyon alum admits life can get a little chaotic. Fortunately, his partnership with STOKE Shoes, a footwear brand designed for men with wide feet, makes the days much more comfortable. “I've never really gotten behind a lot of things and if I do, it's only because I really love it. And I gotta admit, I became slightly obsessed with these shoes,” Josh explained. “They're truly the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. And I wear them all the time now. They're incredibly comfortable.” He added, “They're made for guys who have wider feet and for guys who are on their feet all day. That’s really what it is. I just really, really love the brand.”

Why Christa Pike's Botched Execution is Sparking Heated Debate

WASHINGTON — One-third of Americans think the government should try a second time to put a convicted criminal to death if a first execution attempt fails, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted after a botched lethal injection in Tennessee. The four-day poll, completed on Monday, showed 39% of respondents thought the government should instead allow convicts to serve life in prison following a failed execution, while 26% were not sure which was a better approach. The nationwide survey found minority public support for trying again to execute inmates who survive execution attempts, a question Tennessee now faces after Christa Pike, 50, survived two lethal injection attempts last month in Nashville.Christa Gail Pike, on death row for a slaying, appears in court to fight a conviction in a 2001 attack on an inmate in Nashville, Tennessee, on April 12, 2012. Carrie Ann Inaba Speaks Out After Val Chmerkovskiy's Surprising DWTS Exit

Carrie Ann Inaba Speaks Out After Val Chmerkovskiy's Surprising DWTS Exit

Carrie Ann Inaba is speaking out after Val Chmerkovskiy was benched from Dedication Night on Dancing With the Stars season 35. “Looking forward to a heartfelt night of dedications,” Inaba, 58, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, October 20, alongside a black-and-white photo of the DWTS ballroom floor. In the caption, she added, “Always and forever team Dancing with the Stars❤️. #TEAMDWTS.” News broke on Saturday, October 17, that Chmerkovskiy, 40, was sitting out the upcoming Dedication Night episode after making a controversial remark toward Inaba. Days earlier, the longtime DWTS judge called out Chmerkovskiy's wife and fellow pro, Jenna Johnson, for a lift during her Super Bowl Night performance with Harry Shum Jr. "You almost saw Fresh Prince enter the ballroom last night," Chmerkovskiy wrote in a social media post, which was later deleted, referring to Will Smith's outburst at the 2022 Oscars. Chmerkovskiy later issued a public apology via his Instagram Story on Thursday, October 15. "I want to apologize from the bottom of my heart for my recent post," he wrote. "I have reached out to Carrie Ann to apologize directly and personally and I also want to apologize publicly as I understand my words affect so many outside our internal DWTS family. I should never have made the reference that I did and I deeply regret it." He continued, "I recognize that I am in a fortunate position to have a platform and to be a role model to some, and I need to treat that with more care by actively pausing to think before I post to ensure what I am sharing aligns with who I am, and who I want to be for you all." Chmerkovskiy promised he "will do better moving forward," calling the comment "careless." Amid the ongoing discourse online, a spokesperson for BBC Studios confirmed Chmerkovskiy would not participate in Dedication Night, noting, "Val's social media post was inappropriate and does not reflect the values or standards expected of anyone connected with the show." Chmerkovskiy subsequently addressed the decision. "Hi everyone. As you may have seen in the news, I won't be in the ballroom this week," he shared via his Instagram Story on Saturday. "In a moment where my instinct was to defend my wife, I made a poor decision to reference a meme to keep my wife's name out of the conversation without stopping to think through what else that reference could imply, which was genuinely never my intention." The ballroom pro insisted he didn't want to be a "distraction" from Jenna Dewan's performance honoring her mom, Nancy. (Alan Bersten is stepping in to dance in Chmerkovskiy's place.) "Carrie Ann certainly didn't deserve to get caught in the middle of my bad judgment, and I hate that she was. ... Please send Carrie Ann, Jenna and the whole DWTS family lots of love during Dedication Night," he concluded. "I'll be watching and cheering everyone on!!" Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.

Christina Applegate's Emotional Journey After MS Misdiagnosis Shocks Fans

Christina Applegate's Emotional Journey After MS Misdiagnosis Shocks Fans

Christina Applegate is breaking down her reaction to learning she had been misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis. “I was, like, not happy at all. Everybody else was so happy,” Applegate, 54, said on the Tuesday, October 20, episode of her and Jamie Lynn Sigler’s “MeSsy” podcast. “You don’t get misdiagnosed and then all of the sudden I’m better. I haven’t gotten better, Jamie. If anything, I’ve gotten worse in some ways.” She continued, “So I’m back at square one that I don’t know what’s going on with me. And that’s going to be an online investigation that my doctors are going to get into just to find out what has been going on since 2021. Why did this happen?” Applegate went public with her MS diagnosis in 2021 and has since been candid about navigating the ups and downs of her health battle. In a separate episode released on Tuesday, Applegate and Sigler, 45, were joined by Dr. Marwa Kaisey, an associate professor with the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center department of neurology, to discuss MS misdiagnoses. “When I was diagnosed with MS, of course, I’ve gone through great depression because of it. I lost everything,” Applegate said, while becoming emotional. “I lost my job. I lost — I’m sorry. What do you say to someone who’s been living with this for six years — God, I’m so sorry, I get really emotional because it stopped my life. I still have to use wheelchairs when I go to the doctor’s offices. I can’t walk from the car to the room. I mean, I’m still in this.” She continued, “Nothing magical happened when she said, ‘You don’t have MS.’ Nothing magical happened. So what do you say to someone like that? To someone who has kind of lost their abilities. And here we are, we don’t know. I guess I felt comfort in having a name. I felt comfort in having an answer and a community.” Applegate explained that she still feels like “a part” of the MS community because she’s a “big, big lover” of her friends and others who are navigating the autoimmune condition. “I know what your struggles are because I lived all of them as well,” Applegate said. “I guess, what do you say to someone who now is emotionally dealing with this misdiagnosis and how it became such a part of their identity and yet they are still suffering?” Kaisey, for her part, shared that she wasn’t sure there was “anything great to say,” adding that what Applegate is “going through is really, really hard.” “My big hope for you is that this does lead to some answers and to treatments that might even address what you have better than the MS explanation, which was a little offtarget,” Kaisey said. “So there’s hope there, also, in this undiagnosis … You may be on a difficult road but on a road to getting a more accurate diagnosis and better treatments for what you actually do have.”

GofundmeJada faces a “difficult road to recovery ahead, requiring extensive medical treatments, surgeries, and ongoing care,” the fundraiser said.“Their mother is now carrying a heavy burden that no parent should ever have to face: mourning the loss of one daughter while standing by the hospital bed of another.”All five were students at Mattawan High School in a small city of about 2,500 people about 60 miles south of Grand Rapids. One of the other injured students was identified by her father as Liyra Fuller in another online fundraiser.Investigators believe the vehicle had been traveling west on West R Avenue when it left the roadway and struck a tree around 3:23 a.m. Sunday. It was not immediately clear who was driving or where the friends were heading.A vigil was held Monday night in Mattawan High School’s parking lot, while a makeshift memorial of flowers and balloons marks the site of the crash. Some students hold it in; they don’t want to talk to anybody initially. Days later, weeks later, it may surface,” Fleenor continued. Mattawan High School has just over 1,100 students in grades 9 through 12, according to US News and World Report.

Kyle Kennedy's Tragic Passing: The Untold Story Behind Her Advocacy

Kyle Kennedy's Tragic Passing: The Untold Story Behind Her Advocacy

Kyle Kennedy, one of Robert F. “Bobby” Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy’s 34 grandchildren, has died. She was 42. “Kyle Francis Kennedy passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026, at her home in Westwood, Massachusetts,” the educator’s obituary read. A cause of death has not been revealed. Funeral services were private, according to the obituary. Kyle was born on July 6, 1984, in Washington, D.C., to parents Michael (who died in 1997) and Victoria Denise Gifford. Victoria, 69, is the daughter of Frank Gifford and Maxine Avis Ewart and is Kathie Lee Gifford’s stepdaughter. Kyle spent most of her life in Massachusetts, “where she built a career devoted to early childhood education,” according to her obituary. She majored in history at Georgetown University in D.C. and later earned a Master of Science in early education from Pace University, as well as a Master of Education in education policy and management from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. Kyle began her career teaching in the program Teach for America in New York City. She was also an advocate for more equitable elementary education and charter schooling. “Kyle was naturally fast and competitive,” her obituary read. “Throughout her life, she could frequently be seen outrunning her peers on playgrounds, soccer pitches, and lacrosse fields, while in quieter moments tenaciously pursuing all out victory in trivial pursuit or card games. As an adult, she developed a passion for long-distance running and in 2019 completed the Boston Marathon in a driving rainstorm, beating her own father's time by 20 minutes.” The page continued, “Kyle loved art, animals, and travel. She can be seen in photos bundled head to toe in a down jacket inside a Scandinavian ice cave, enjoying the sun on the beaches of Cape Cod and Nantucket, and smiling beside a band of mountain gorillas in Uganda.” Kyle married Liam Kerr in August 2012. The pair went on to welcome twins Conor and Josephine in 2014, although the latter tragically died days after her birth. Kyle and Kerr later welcomed son Declan in 2016. While the couple’s divorce was never reported, the obituary refers to Kerr as Kyle’s “former husband.” In 2020, Kyle suffered a severe spinal cord injury that resulted in long-term paralysis and disability. She began advocating for others with disabilities, including “testifying at the Massachusetts state house in a hearing on discrimination in disabled health care.” Kyle is survived by Kerr and their two sons; her mother; her brother, Michael, his wife, Mary, and their children, McKie and Quinn; and her sister, Rory, her husband, David, and their children, Jack and Caleb. Kyle's death comes less than a year after Tatiana Schlossberg, the granddaughter of late President John F. Kennedy, lost her battle with leukemia at age 35.

Lady Gaga Hints at New Music After Welcoming Baby Rose Bean

Lady Gaga Hints at New Music After Welcoming Baby Rose Bean

Mother Monster is still hard at work. Lady Gaga made a major announcement about her music career after welcoming a baby girl earlier this year. After Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta) posted a TikTok video promoting her cosmetic brand Haus Labs' Complexion Brush Set on Monday, October 19, a fan took to the comments section to beg the "Bad Romance" singer, 40, to return to the recording studio. "Gaga please don't make us wait long for albums!!!" the user wrote. "We just want music!!! Every albums has been taking longer & longer ." Gaga quickly responded, "Don't worry ," teasing that a new release may be on the way. News broke in September that the 16-time Grammy winner had quietly started a family with her fiancé, Michael Polansky. Us later obtained a birth certificate revealing the couple named their daughter Rose Bean and that she was born on June 9 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Gaga and Polansky, 43, are believed to have named their firstborn child after one of the pop star's favorite songs, "La Vie en Rose," which she covered in her 2018 movie, A Star Is Born. Rose is rumored to have gotten her middle name from Carl Bean, the late LGBTQ+ activist who inspired Gaga's hit 2011 song "Born This Way." Earlier this month, a source exclusively told Us that Gaga and Polansky, who got engaged in 2024, have been raising their daughter at their "peaceful" home in Northern California. "She planned it so she would have the time off in advance," the insider said of the "Poker Face" singer, confirming Rose arrived via surrogacy. "She kept it a secret. All she really revealed was that she needed to carve out some personal time." A second source shared with Us that Gaga was still "doing some work from home" during her first months as a new mom, adding, "She is finishing up her Mayhem Ball concert film and has been on calls for her Haus Labs brand." The Oscar winner released her most recent album, Mayhem, in March 2025. After headlining Coachella, she took the project — which included the singles "Die With a Smile," "Disease" and "Abracadabra" — on tour from July 2025 to April. Gaga was spotted recording her Los Angeles shows in February, though she has yet to announce a release date for the film.

Ancient Footprints Rewrite the Story of First North Americans

Ancient Footprints Rewrite the Story of First North Americans

See more of our coverage in your search results. Researchers examining ancient DNA have narrowed down the timeline of early human migration into North America — shedding light on a question that’s puzzled scientists for decades. The study, published online ahead of its appearance in the December 2026 issue of the journal Current Opinion in Genetics & Development, looked at previously published genetic and archaeological evidence to better understand when humans first arrived in the Americas.Genetic evidence most strongly supports humans reaching the Americas between 14,000 and 20,000 years ago, the study suggests — with an arrival before 15,000 years ago considered likely.Previously, scientists thought the first humans arrived in North America roughly 13,500 years ago, a theory known as “Clovis First.” An illustration of Christopher Columbus arriving in the New World in 1492 in a collectible card published in 1887. Getty ImagesLater archaeological discoveries have challenged that timeline, suggesting humans may have reached North America thousands of years earlier. The researchers, led by Bethany Potter and Savannah Hay of the University of Kansas, reviewed existing ancient DNA and archaeological evidence, including 23,000-year-old human footprints found at White Sands National Park in New Mexico. The footprints suggest humans may have inhabited North America earlier than the timeline supported by currently available genetic evidence. A team of researchers examined ancient DNA and 23,000-year-old footprints to determine humans were in North America earlier than the suggested previous timeline. Heritage Images/Getty ImagesSuch early populations could have belonged to genetic lineages that have not yet been sampled or that left no surviving descendants, the researchers said. By comparing previously published genetic data from ancient human remains in Asia and the Americas, researchers examined shared ancestry to trace how early Indigenous populations split into distinct groups. Some ancestral lineages diverged roughly 21,000 years ago, according to the review. The researchers also highlighted evidence that ancestral Native American populations split into northern and southern groups roughly 15,500 years ago, likely south of the massive ice sheets that once covered much of North America. That would mean their ancestors had already reached the continent before the split occurred.“Genomic data show us that the dynamics of the peopling of the Americas were quite different — at one point, a small group of people must have entered the American continents completely devoid of other humans,” the researchers wrote.Still, the researchers acknowledged that questions remain about exactly when and where early populations diverged.“The timing and geographic location of key divergence events mentioned above remain uncertain,” the authors wrote.Ancient DNA has also played a key role in other recent archaeological discoveries.Earlier this summer, researchers announced the discovery of ancient sheep pox virus DNA in the York Gospels, a 1,000-year-old manuscript written in England. In Chile, researchers recently discovered ancient smallpox DNA in two centuries-old mummies, providing the first genetic evidence of the disease in that region of South America.

Emmitt Smith Reveals How Len Goodman's Absence Changed DWTS

Emmitt Smith Reveals How Len Goodman's Absence Changed DWTS

Former Dancing With the Stars champion Emmitt Smith is getting candid about how the show has changed without beloved judge Len Goodman.  “Len was the ultimate ballroom judge and he did not like a lot of freestyle stuff,” Smith, 57, exclusively told Us via his partnership with AT&T before DWTS’ Dedication Night on Tuesday, October 20. “So, a lot of those hip-hop things that you see right now is probably because Len is not around any longer, unfortunately.” Goodman retired from DWTS in November 2022 after being a nearly constant presence at the judges’ panel since the show premiered in 2005. He died of prostate cancer in April 2023 at the age of 78.  Smith noted that Goodman was “a great judge,” but he also argued judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli “can appreciate” different styles of dance. “Len was such a stickler on ballroom because this is a ballroom competition,” the former Dallas Cowboys running back said. “However, the creativity of the dancers and the creativity that you see come out on some of these routines, it actually showcases the talent and the breadth and the depth a person can actually grow to. Sometimes people don’t know that it’s in them until they try these things.” Smith won the mirrorball trophy — which was later renamed in Goodman’s honor — with partner Cheryl Burke during season 3 of DWTS in 2006. The duo returned for an all-stars season in 2012, ultimately finishing in fourth place. “I had to learn some of these things myself,” Smith said of the competition’s challenges. “Dancing With the Stars was a great show for a person to really get outside of their comfort zone, let their hair down and just relax and enjoy the moment. If you learn the routine quick enough and the techniques and the posture and everything else, it just flows and you have a ball.” The NFL Hall of Famer has partnered with AT&T to celebrate this season’s Dedication Night, during which the celebrity dancers will pay tribute to a special person in their lives. “Back in my era, there was not a Dedication Night,” Smith said. “It has actually evolved and I’m glad that it has because every one of these dancers, including myself, have had someone in our lives that has impacted us in so many different ways.” Throughout the night, AT&T will sponsor integrations celebrating the people and relationships that shape contestants’ lives. “With AT&T, they keep everybody connected to the moments that move us,” Smith added. “With Dancing With the Stars, it’s about movement. It’s about moving forward. On the football field, it’s about moving and progressing and scoring touchdowns. As everything else in life, you learn from your mistakes. Even on Dancing With the Stars, you have to learn from these things. The life lessons are all around this show.” Dancing With the Stars season 35’s Dedication Night airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesday, October 20, at 8 p.m. ET .

Sahara Ray's Untimely Death: The Unrevealed Details Behind Her Tragic Passing

Sahara Ray's Untimely Death: The Unrevealed Details Behind Her Tragic Passing

Sahara Ray, a model and the daughter of Australian pro surfer Tony Ray, died on Sunday, October 18. She was 34. "She passed away last night surrounded by family at the hospital,” Sahara’s family said in a statement to TMZ on Monday, October 19. “She was so loved.” An official cause of death has yet to be revealed. Us has reached out to Sahara’s team for comment. Sahara, who was born in Australia and grew up in California, rose to fame through her modeling career. After building a large following on social media, she was able to launch her own swimwear line called Sahara Ray Swim. The model also made headlines for spending time with Justin Bieber in 2016. At the time, the pair were photographed vacationing together in Hawaii. (She was also reportedly linked to singer and future Traitors star Cody Simpson.) In 2024, Sahara revealed she had been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. According to the Mayo Clinic, the rare neurological disorder is a condition in which the body's immune system attacks the nerves. It can cause weakness, numbness or paralysis. “My whole life changed in an instant,” she wrote via Instagram at the time, per Australia’s 7 News. “So thankful for my family and doctors for helping me get stronger everyday. Attitude is everything.” In her video, Sahara admitted she had been “pretty depressed” from the condition and needed a wheelchair to help move around. “Right now, I’m paralyzed from the tops of my upper thighs all the way down to my feet,” she said at the time. “I can’t walk at all.” (It’s unclear whether the diagnosis led to her death.) Over time, Sahara’s symptoms began to improve. In August 2025, she announced her pregnancy and gave birth to a baby girl named Snow earlier this year. “Happy Mother’s Day to all my strong beautiful mothers,” she wrote via Instagram on May 10. “You are the light and love of my life baby Snow. Thank you for existing.” Throughout her life, Sahara also tried to follow a mantra that kept her in a positive mindset. “Have courage, and be kind,” she told GQ in July 2015. “Where there is kindness, there is goodness and where there is goodness, there is magic.” In what would have been her final post on Instagram before her death, Sahara shared photos of her growing baby girl with a caption that showcased how much she loved being a mother. “My whole heart baby Snow,” she wrote on July 19.
