Selena Gomez's Voice Transformation Sparks Conversations After Nicotine Confession

Selena Gomez's Voice Transformation Sparks Conversations After Nicotine Confession

Selena Gomez has opened up about her nicotine addiction, revealing that vaping has permanently changed her voice. “I’m not going to be able to change my voice. I vaped nicotine a lot and just so everyone knows, that’s somewhat … vaped,” Gomez, 34, said in a candid Sunday, October 18, Instagram Story video, using a hopeful past tense to describe her habit. “Nicotine is so hard to quit and I think I just wanted to say, if you're going through it or even if you’re trying to vape, it’s just not worth it.” The Only Murders in the Building star, who has been photographed several times with a vape in her hand over the years, continued, “It’s so stupid and it’s changed my voice so if you guys don’t like listening to my voice, that’s totally understandable. I don’t mind, just don’t listen. But I am really excited, because I stopped and I just hope I can keep it up. It’s really hard, but I know if you are going through something, you can get through it too. It sucks.” Gomez has vaped for quite some time, revealing the apparatus in her hand as she got ready to marry husband Benny Blanco and also seemingly holding the pen while preparing for an outing with Taylor Swift last year. In August 2018, she was snapped clutching a vape while walking in Rome, Italy. Her public address comes after months of scrutiny over subtle changes to her voice over the years, and it isn’t the first time she’s addressed concerns shared online. In December 2025, the actress acknowledged during an Instagram Live session that fans had flagged apparent vocal changes. “There’s no excuse, I don’t really care,” she said during her December 16 Instagram Live session. “I think my point is that sometimes things happen. I get weird [or] my throat swells from the inside sometimes. That’s all.” She added at the time that she welcomed such frank conversation. “I’m glad y’all are being real with me on the Live. I appreciate it though, for real,” she said. More recently, Gomez also opened up about how as she gets older, physical traits are bound to change. During an interview with People on September 16, she said that aging doesn’t frighten her. “I don’t feel like it’s a bad thing,” she explained. “Getting older has been so fun. I’m not scared at all. I love getting older. Things are going to change and things are going to sag, but you’re alive. I think age is just a number in many ways.” After Gomez’s nicotine admission went live, she followed the clip with a cute mirror selfie while wearing a pair of tortoise shell spectacles, indicating that things were business as usual. Additional Instagram Stories that followed included a fresh-faced outdoor selfie that captured her glowing skin, as well as fan videos that praised her beauty brand, Rare Beauty.

Carrie Ann Inaba's Response to Val Chmerkovskiy's Slap Joke Stirs 'DWTS' Fans

Carrie Ann Inaba's Response to Val Chmerkovskiy's Slap Joke Stirs 'DWTS' Fans

Carrie Ann Inaba fired back after Val Chmerkovskiy jokingly threatened to slap her Will Smith-style following drama on Dancing With the Stars. Chmerkovskiy, 40, came under fire this week for fiercely defending his wife, Jenna Johnson, online after Inaba, 58, criticized her choreography on Tuesday, October 13’s Super Bowl Night. “You almost saw Fresh Prince enter the ballroom last night,” Chmerkovskiy wrote in a since-deleted TikTok, seemingly referring to Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum Smith, 58, infamously slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars for making a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Inaba responded to the purported threat, asking, “So this is what we are doing now?” She posed the question via Instagram on Thursday, October 15, sharing a screenshot of Page Six’s post featuring Chmerkovskiy and Smith side-by-side with the professional dancer’s quote over it. Inaba added, “Thank you @pagesix and @entertainmentweekly for bringing this to my attention.” The controversy began after Johnson, 32, and her celebrity partner, Harry Shum Jr., performed a samba during Tuesday’s show and Inaba docked them points for an illegal lift. The judge noticed that Shum, 44, had been helped by two troupe dancers to do a backflip mid-routine, which goes against the rules of a traditional samba, which states dancers cannot take both feet off the ground. “I think you need to put more content in your dances. Especially because [Harry’s] so good, I want to see you challenge yourself a little bit more in the vein of what we’re looking for,” Inaba told Johnson, who has been married to Chmerkovskiy since 2019. “And there was a lift.” Johnson was confused by the remark, asking, “A lift?” noting she wasn’t the one who flipped her partner. Inaba then read the definition off a piece of paper, saying, “A lift is — I just need to say it — any movement during which one of the dancers has both feet off the floor at the same time with the assistance or support of their partner. Yeah, lift.” After the awkward judging, Johnson and Shum Jr. received a score of 33 out of 40. They got eights from all three regular judges, Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli and Inaba, and received a nine from guest judge Joe Buck. “I hear Carrie Ann. She’s a judge for a reason,” Johnson told Extra after Tuesday’s episode, claiming it was water under the bridge. “She’s gonna do her job, I’m gonna do mine. I’m gonna take the feedback.” While the pair remained in the competition, Inaba’s criticism — she is known for being tougher than the other judges — caused a stir off camera. In addition to Val coming to his wife’s aide, his brother, former DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy, spoke out about the incident. “She goes and starts reading off the rulebook, but then that same rulebook that’s applicable in ballroom with lifts is only applicable to a couple dancing,” Maks, 46, explained on Thursday's episode of the “Viall Files” podcast. “You’re not talking about extra background dancers running out.” He added, “There’s no ‘three other people’ in the rulebook. The point is: Carrie Ann, get some consistency.” Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard in the Spotlight After Shocking Car Incident

Gypsy Rose Blanchard in the Spotlight After Shocking Car Incident

Gypsy Rose Blanchard was involved in a car accident on Saturday, October 17. Multiple outlets, including People and TMZ, confirmed that the Louisiana State Police Department (LSPD) were called to a minor crash involving Blanchard, 35, on Saturday that only resulted in minor property damage. According to the LSPD, there are no reported injuries or arrests in connection to the incident. The other driver also appeared to confirm the accident, writing via Facebook, “2026 is wild. Just got sideswiped by Gypsy Rose. FML.” Blanchard had “no statement” when reached by Us on Sunday, October 18. The reported fender-bender occurred weeks after Blanchard’s former partner Ken Urker was found dead on his 34th birthday. (Urker is survived by the exes’ 16-month-old daughter, Aurora, in addition to his parents and siblings.) “Ken was an amazing father and a man who was deeply loved,” Blanchard wrote in a social media statement on October 1, addressing Urker’s death. “He will forever be my soulmate and my red string, a connection that time, distance, and even death can never erase.” She continued at the time, “Above all, Ken loved our daughter, Aurora. She is a beautiful reflection of his enduring spirit, and through her, a part of him will always remain with us. I will make sure she grows up knowing how deeply her father loved her and who he was beyond what strangers on the internet chose to say about him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.” A cause of death has not been publicly shared pending an ongoing investigation. Blanchard, who claimed that Urker was cyberbullied before his death, has since vowed to “turn pain into purpose” to combat online harassment. “I only have my daughter and my voice. In honor of Ken, I am asking for your support for Kenan’s Law,” she wrote via Instagram days later, introducing proposed new legislation. “Kenan’s Law is about changing the way social-media platforms handle repeated reports of harassment. One post viewed alone may not tell the whole story — but hundreds of posts, videos and comments directed at one person can reveal a pattern that deserves meaningful review.” She added, “I cannot change what happened, but I can advocate for a better system for the next person who feels like no one is listening. … Fame does not erase humanity. A pattern cannot always be understood one post at a time.”

Aaron Rodgers' Family Reunion: The Moment That Stole the Spotlight

Aaron Rodgers' Family Reunion: The Moment That Stole the Spotlight

Aaron Rodgers had nearly his entire family cheering for him on the sidelines following the group's unexpected reunion earlier this year. “Last weekend was pretty special. ,” Aaron’s brother Luke Rodgers wrote via Instagram on Sunday, October 18, alongside throwback photos from the Steelers’ October 12 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. (The Steelers won 34-22.) Before kickoff, Aaron, 42, greeted Luke, 44, and his wife, Aimee Rodgers, at Pittsburgh’s Acrisure Stadium with their three young children. The siblings’ parents, Ed and Darla Rodgers, were also present. (Aaron and Luke’s younger brother, Jordan Rodgers, did not appear to be in attendance, though he did “like” Luke’s post.) Luke’s family later watched the quarterback’s game from a private suite before their brood reconvened at a private residence. In additional snaps, Aaron was seen cuddling his niece and nephew. Aaron had long been estranged from his parents and brothers throughout his NFL tenure. They recently reconciled thanks in part to Aaron’s wife, Brittani. “I’m in a much better headspace, and I said it before, but my wife deserves a lot of the credit for that just to be even able to to get to that point where I could think about having the conversation,” Aaron, who announced his marriage in June 2025 after a private courtship, said on the “Not Just Football” podcast last month. “She was a big part of that, not that she was pushing anything, she wasn’t.” He continued at the time, “When you’re loved by someone in such an unconditional and beautiful pure way, it changes your perspective on all your relationships around that. That becomes your anchor point. It’s like, wow, if I can be made to feel like this by this person, it opens up your heart in a really deeper way, you know, that I never experienced before.” According to Aaron, he visited with his parents at their California hometown before traveling to meet with Luke in Nashville. “A couple weeks after that, I met with my little brother. It was cool,” Aaron noted, noting he had a “tough conversation” with Jordan, 38. “There was some stuff there and then I could tell I was coming to a time where I needed to make it right.” Jordan first detailed the siblings’ estrangement on now-wife JoJo Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette in 2016, revealing that Aaron wouldn’t join their relatives for his hometown date. Aaron later criticized Jordan for publicizing the drama. Fresh off his team’s October 12 victory, Aaron led the Steelers to a 26-19 overtime victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

Cindy Crawford's Heartfelt Tribute to Son Presley Leaves Fans in Tears

Cindy Crawford's Heartfelt Tribute to Son Presley Leaves Fans in Tears

Cindy Crawford and her family spoke out for the first time after her son, Presley, died at age 27. "Presley Walker Gerber. July 2, 1999-September 20, 2026. We are beyond heartbroken to lose our beloved son and brother. We feel so blessed to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years. He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever," the family wrote in a statement shared via Crawford's Instagram on Sunday, October 18. "We are so proud of how he showed up in the world, with kindness and vulnerability. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from so many who know and love our family and even strangers who feel our pain. Til we meet again our sweet boy." The message was signed, "We love you forever, Mom, Dad and Kaia ." Alongside the statement, the family shared a black-and-white photo of Presley smiling as he looked off in the distance with angel wings placed in front of him. They added, "Thank you @sebastianfaena for capturing this beautiful image ." Us confirmed on Sunday, September 20, that Crawford and husband Rande Gerber's son died in a rehab facility from a suspected overdose. "The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time," read the statement from Presley's loved ones as the investigation into his death remains ongoing. Before his death, Presley spoke about his struggles with mental health issues and addiction. "Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that's all I need to do," he said during a 2023 appearance on the "Studio 22" podcast. Presley added: "It's a huge part of my life. It's a 24/7 job and there's so much to it. That's what I really want to do — help people get out of whether you're depressed [or] struggling with something that's having a negative effect on your body. ... What I hope I can do is have made the mistakes for some other people, so they don’t have to make the same mistakes that I made." Crawford, meanwhile, shared an emotional tribute to Presley months before his death. "Happy birthday @presleygerber I’m so proud of the man you’ve become, but I'll always see you as my little boy! Love you ❤️," she wrote via Instagram in July. Crawford also previously spoke about adjusting to life without her kids at home. (The supermodel also shares daughter Kaia Gerber with husband Rande, 64.) "When they become adults, all of a sudden you're like, 'OK, I've got to back off here.' It might not be the way I would do it, but you know," she told PORTER magazine in September. "When you get married, you talk about what kind of family you want or where we're going to live. But no one ever talks about what this phase looks like, empty nesting, because it's so far away you can't even imagine it. But it's an opportunity for us to redefine our relationship." At the time, Crawford hinted she was "looking forward" to becoming a grandmother, adding, "I'm at the age where a lot of my friends are starting to have grandkids, and even though I don't think either one of my kids is close, I do hope I get to experience that, because it looks really fun." Gleb Savchenko's Candid Take on Alan Bersten's 'DWTS' Performance

Gleb Savchenko's Candid Take on Alan Bersten's 'DWTS' Performance

Former Dancing With the Stars pro Gleb Savchenko has thoughts about Alan Bersten stepping in for Val Chmerkovskiy during his Dedication Night suspension. “Alan, I think he’s Alan. I mean, he’s just not up to the level of dancing, like, period,” Savchenko, 43, said during a recent TikTok livestream screen-recorded by fans. “[The] quality, the technique. He’s a good dancer, I guess, for TV but if we talk about art? Like creating art? He’s like, eh.” Savchenko further stressed that he doesn’t “want to talk s***” about a former DWTS colleague, claiming he is “just being honest.” “I don’t have anything against the guy, just, why Alan?” Savchenko, who voluntarily walked away from DWTS ahead of season 35, lamented. “Who else is there? Give, what’s his name [a chance]? Who’s on troupe?” The DWTS season 35 troupe features Carter Williams, Jaxon Willard, Onye Stevenson and Kamri Peterson. Savchenko also thought that “B,” likely referring to eliminated pro Brandon Armstrong, would make a good match for Chmerkovskiy’s celebrity partner, Jenna Dewan. Us confirmed on Saturday, October 17, that Bersten, 32, will dance a Viennese waltz with Dewan, 45, on the October 20 live show after her pro partner, Chmerkovskiy, was unceremoniously benched for making allegedly threatening comments about judge Carrie Ann Inaba. (Inaba, 58, had criticized Chmerkovskiy’s wife, Jenna Johnson, for an illegal lift in her Super Bowl Night samba, prompting the Ukrainian dance pro to defend his spouse via social media.) As Dewan and Bersten prepare for their sweet dedication to the Rookie actress’ mother, Savchenko pondered whether they were a good match. “‘Cause Jenna’s small and Val is a little smaller than Brandon and Alan, so who [else] would I put her with?” he asked himself. “I don’t know.” Chmerkovskiy, 40, has not publicly addressed Bersten standing in his place on Dedication Night but planned to support Dewan from afar. “In a moment where my instinct was to defend my wife, I made a poor decision to reference a meme to ‘keep my wife’s name’ out of the conversation, without stopping to think through what else that reference could imply, which was genuinely never my intention,” Chmerkovskiy wrote in a Saturday statement shared with Us. “Carrie Ann certainly didn’t deserve to get caught in the middle of my bad judgment, and I hate that she was.” He continued at the time, “The last thing I want is to become a distraction from an important week or from the incredible work my dance partner Jenna Dewan is putting in. Please send Carrie Ann, Jenna, and the whole DWTS family lots of love during Dedication Night. I’ll be watching and cheering everyone on!!” Neither Bersten nor Dewan have publicly addressed their weeklong partnership or Savchenko's comments. Dancing With the Stars airs Tuesdays on ABC and Disney+ at 8 p.m ET.
