Kelly Stafford Opens Up About Parenting Challenges in Glamorous L.A.

Kelly Stafford, the wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, admitted raising her four daughters in the City of Angels comes with some very specific challenges.  “I, as a 37-year-old woman, feel pressure to look a certain way here,” Kelly exclusively told Us while promoting her partnership with Wayfair. “It’s normal for everyone to do things and whatnot. I feel that pressure. I can only imagine being my daughters growing up here. I would hope that they see it as, ‘Oh, yeah, that’s just what people do here, but we’re good.’ But I think it will be hard. There’s just a lot here.” Kelly and Matthew, 38, share four daughters: twins Sawyer and Chandler, 9, Hunter, 8 and Tyler, 6.  “For me — and I know for my husband, too — we want somewhat of a simpler upbringing for our girls,” Kelly, who met Matthew during their time at the University of Georgia, explained. “We already kind of don’t know what we’re doing because neither of us grew up this way. To be surrounded by a community with the same values and things like that is important to us. It will also help [Matthew and myself] stay grounded. That’s part of it, too. We have to stay grounded. How do you do that? You surround yourself with people who have known you forever and can call you out on your bulls***.” Kelly added, “You know, you use your manners. You open the door for people. To me, things that matter. You have respect for people. It’s everywhere, right? It’s not just California. But I do think it’s ramped up here.” When Matthew decides to retire — he is currently in the midst of his 18th NFL season and signed a one-year, $55 million contract extension with the Rams in May — the Staffords haven’t decided whether they’ll leave California behind. “That is a question I ask myself every day,” Kelly told Us. “Family’s first for us. I miss my family like crazy. I could get choked up talking about how much I miss them. I miss my nephews and nieces growing up. Having people at sporting events, that is how I grew up. We have a huge extended family, as well. That feels like home to me.” She continued, “But I also have to realize that my daughters are older and have made friends and have routines and sports teams. My husband loves it out here. So, what’s the compromise? The footage shows wounded soldiers and civilians rushing through Soroka Medical Center as doctors and nurses scramble to treat the patients, who ranged from babies to elderly Israelis to young revelers shot at the Nova music festival — and even a heavily pregnant mom.Survivors from the Nova Music Festival Oct. 7 terror attack are treated at a hospital in Israel.“At some point you realize you’re not seeing a terror attack, you’re seeing a massacre,” Prof. Shlomi Codish, CEO of Clalit-Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, told The Post on the eve of the attack’s third anniversary.The hospital, the only Level 1 trauma center in southern Israel, treated a staggering 674 wounded in the first 24 hours after the terror attack — more than five times the 121 casualties from the largest mass-casualty incident it had previously faced.“The maximum number we practiced for was 300,” Codish said. “We do drills to 300, which is considered a fantastic number that we’ll never see.”The hospital’s emergency protocols kicked in almost immediately after the attack began, with Soroka ordering 100 additional units of blood and summoning more than 1,000 staffers before 8 a.m.“If we hadn’t done that, people would have died,” Codish said of the blood order.By the time hospital leaders arrived, it was becoming clear that this was unlike anything they had prepared for.The hospital, the only Level 1 trauma center in southern Israel, treated a staggering 674 wounded in the first 24 hours after the terror attack.“If you take the wildest horror director somewhere, they’re not going to come up with this scenario,” Codish said.The hospital’s first operation was on a Bedouin Muslim woman in her 20s who was more than 40 weeks pregnant with her first child when she was shot in the abdomen.Doctors saved the woman and delivered her daughter during emergency surgery, but the baby died 14 hours later.“This is evil beyond what you can comprehend,” Codish said. “When you shoot someone with a gun, you see who you’re shooting. Someone deliberately shot a very pregnant young woman, not a soldier, who also happened to be Muslim.”Later, soldiers brought in two babies without their parents after finding the infants alive in a room where their mother and father had been killed nearby, Codish said.The hospital’s first operation was on a Bedouin Muslim woman in her 20s who was more than 40 weeks pregnant with her first child when she was shot in the abdomen.Another patient arrived in shock after watching his wife and son murdered in front of him inside a shelter at a kibbutz. He ultimately lost a leg.“Beyond the bodily wound, how do you fathom this?” Codish said. “How does your mind wrap itself around that?”The previously unreleased hospital surveillance footage was broadcast this week in “The Shift,” an episode of the investigative program “Zman Emet” on KAN 11, Israel’s public broadcaster.The documentary draws on cameras throughout the hospital to show the medical center as the magnitude of the attack gradually became apparent.In one scene, 23-year-old Golani soldier Noam is rushed down a Soroka corridor with a devastating leg injury when his father, Avraham, spots him on the stretcher.The father runs alongside his son and manages to kiss him before doctors rush him into the trauma room. Saritha Komatireddy was a freshman in her first week at Harvard University when terrorists struck New York. She resolved, on 9/11, to become a prosecutor to protect her country and hometown. She’s been doing it ever since.As an Assistant US Attorney in the Eastern District of New York, she took down terrorists, cartel members and cybercriminals, forging a reputation so impressive that she was named chief of staff of the Drug Enforcement Administration in the back half of the Biden administration, right as it finally began to take the porous southern border seriously.Now a 41-year-old mother to two sets of twins under the age of 10 living in Manhattan, she’s mounting an insurgent statewide campaign against New York Attorney General Letitia James. We have a family friend who had a stray bullet come through her bedroom while she was sleeping,” Komatireddy told The Post. “New Yorkers don’t feel safe, they feel less safe now than when Tish James began as attorney general and the reason is simple: they are less safe now.“She stopped doing the job.” Those are the weighty charges Komatireddy is leveling against James, who is something of a celebrity on the left thanks to her overblown civil lawsuit against Donald Trump.But while the AG’s pursuit of hyper-partisan vanity projects endeared her to her fellow professional Democrats and the media, Komatireddy believes that the public sees them for what they are: a distraction from her core duties.“For the last eight years, we’ve had an attorney general who is more focused on national politics and burnishing her own brand and celebrity, and that has not served New Yorkers,” says the Republican nominee for James’ office. “We’re all less safe because of it. In order to engage in a criminal investigation, you would need a referral from the governor of the state of New York.”It’s an empty answer, and one Komatireddy plans to dismantle when they debate Thursday evening.On hate crimes: which have skyrocketed on James’ watch: “The AG has jurisdiction to step in when a district attorney fails to prosecute a case appropriately,” Komatireddy says.On retail theft rings: “That is the very definition of organized crime. Under New York State law, we have an organized crime task force in the attorney general’s office for the specific purpose of prosecuting organized crime.”On aiding shorthanded district attorneys’ offices: “The New York Court of Appeals has held that the attorney general can send attorneys from her own office to the DAs’ offices and designate them as special ADAs so that they can help out.”“There are numerous ways an attorney general can prosecute crime, you just have to want to do it,” Komatireddy told The Post.“Our problem right now is not a lack of resources or a lack of authority. Tish James just doesn’t want to do it.”You don’t have to take her word for it either.James is a bail reform truther more worried about “overreact[ing] to spikes in crime” than reacting to them, and more interested in investigating cops than criminals.Her lethargic brand of leadership isn’t just a product of laziness, it’s her naive worldview put into practice.On homelessness, too, Komatireddy’s “can do” attitude makes for a sharp contrast with James’ shrugs.Komatireddy is proposing the establishment of an Office of Civil Commitment to get severely mentally ill people off the streets and into treatment centers.James has derided her plan, complaining that “She wants to go backwards to the time when individuals who were struggling with mental illness were out of mind, and out of sight, and locked away.”That’s a cute — if wildly demagogic — canned line, but it’s cold comfort to the family of Erin Piacenti, the new mother stabbed to death in Times Square on August 31.Or that of Mesias Lojano, the 59-year-old man murdered on the J train last Wednesday.Or those who loved Ross Falzone, a retired 76-year-old special education teacher who passed after being shoved down a staircase in May. “Having severely mentally ill individuals out on the streets, in the subways, is unsafe for the individual themselves and unsafe for the community,” argued Komatireddy. “It’s a public safety crisis, it’s also a humanitarian crisis.”“Tish James wants to do nothing and leave things just the way they are. That’s who’s going backwards, that’s cruel.”The disturbing “Cornell 7” story dominating headlines across the country makes for still another case study in James’ propensity toward political stunts and sloppy mistakes. Governor Kathy Hochul has appointed James to replace the Tompkins County district attorney as the lead prosecutor in the criminal investigation into the alleged incident.But James has already betrayed her prejudice in the case, declaring that what Jane Doe had “been forced to endure is horrific and unacceptable.”Her commentary, though, has already disserved the alleged victim, the suspects and the public at large.However this sad episode ends will be the subject of continued controversy thanks to her big mouth. The blunder is reflective of recurring character flaws that the 67-year-old isn’t likely to kick anytime soon, and that Komatireddy doesn’t have to.“Sexual assault is one of the most serious crimes that anyone can experience,” she told The Post. “It’s just awful, and cases like that have to be handled with seriousness, with care… Cases like that have to be handled by serious prosecutors, and it’s unfortunate because Letitia James isn’t a prosecutor.”“You know, I personally investigated and prosecuted cases of sexual assault. I did it fairly, impartially, with integrity. I never pulled my punches, I never pled those cases down, I prosecuted them to the fullest extent of the law,” continued Komatireddy. “I prosecuted them based on the facts and the law, not based on press coverage or politics. That’s what you need to do to run an investigation and prosecution with integrity in a way that everyone involved can trust and have confidence in.”There’s little doubt that the challenger is the prohibitive underdog against the incumbent.Republicans face significant headwinds nationally, let alone in deep blue New York. But Komatireddy and her husband, oncologist Neil Vasan, are no strangers to a challenge.The pair have long balanced their high-powered careers (Vasan is the director of Breast Cancer Translational Research at NYU Langone) with managing a young family of six that includes two toddlers.“I love New York,” remarked Komatireddy. “My campaign is about New Yorkers. It’s not about what’s happening anywhere else in the country, I’m focused on the safety of New Yorkers, and I will tell you, as the only candidate who has traveled to every single one of the 62 counties in this state, New Yorkers are fed up with the crime and fed up with the politics.”On the merits of their records, their ideas, their ability to articulate them, and their commitment to public safety, the race between herself and James is no contest at all.Whether or not Komatireddy ultimately prevails, her campaign is destined to expose Letitia James for the dangerous incompetent she is.And serve as a launch pad for a new, common sense conservative star in a state in desperate need of one.

Four high school students were injured over the weekend when the railing in a section of bleachers at Bergen Catholic High School collapsed amid a frenzied celebration after the Crusaders upset Don Bosco Prep.The scary scene happened moments after Bergen Catholic pulled off a come-from-behind win over the previously undefeated Don Bosco Prep on Saturday, and several of the victorious players ran over to the student section to celebrate.Video showed the crowd also surging toward the field, which seemed to lead to the railing giving out and students spilling onto one another. Four students sustained minor injuries as a result, according to multiple outlets, and Oradell police chief told NJ.com that one student had been treated at the scene for a leg injury, and there were no other serious injuries. A statement from Bergen Catholic High School President Brian Mahoney said that the bleachers “are inspected annually” and, following the incident, a “second thorough inspection” will take place. The football bleachers collapsed in a scary scene. Sook_Sports/X“Bergen Catholic is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our students, families, staff, and supporters at all school-sponsored events,” Mahoney’s statement read. “At the conclusion of the Bergen Catholic Don Bosco Prep football game, a portion of the metal fence between the track and bleachers was compromised, causing the outside railing to come loose and the fence to collapse. Thankfully, only four students sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention.  The incident happened at Bergen Catholic High School. Lori Loughlin is ready for everything life has to offer as she embraces her next chapter as an empty nester and single woman — and her style reflects that. “I would say that I'm feeling maybe even a bit more adventurous and playful in the way that I'm dressing now,” Loughlin, 62, exclusively told Us while promoting her new collection with LOLA by Laurie Felt debuting on QVC Monday, October 5. “I think I dress age appropriately and all of that. I'm not trying to be my daughter's age.” Loughlin — who shares daughters Bella, 28, and Olivia Jade, 27, with estranged husband Mossimo Giannulli — noted she’s "definitely leaning into having some more fun and feeling a little bit sexier" in her independent era, "but in my own way, what makes me feel confident.” The Full House alum added it’s been “really exciting and fun” to switch up her signature look as she grows into this new phase. (Us confirmed in September that Loughlin filed for divorce from Giannulli, 63, one year after they separated.) “I think I'm at a place in my life where I feel comfortable enough to put something together that maybe feels a little bit edgier or a little out of my box,” Loughlin shared. Loughlin explained that becoming an empty nester this year alongside her longtime friend Laurie Felt has also inspired a change in her approach to fashion and life. “We're both going through a transition. And we are embracing it and we are having fun,” the Hallmark actress said. Loughlin recalled a moment “a couple months ago” where she was at Disney World with her Full House costars and John Stamos pushed her outside her comfort zone and made her ride a roller-coaster. “I'm like, ‘No, no, no. I don't do roller-coasters,’” she remembered. “And he's like, ‘No, you do now.’ And he made me get on that roller-coaster. I was terrified. And I went on the roller-coaster and I had the best time. It was so exhilarating.” Once Loughlin got off the ride, she wanted to do another roller-coaster, revealing she tried four new rides that day and faced a fear she never thought she’d overcome. “I think that is symbolic of how I'm embracing life right now. There might be trepidation, but I'm gonna try it. What's the worst that can happen?” she said. “You don't like it or it doesn't work out? At least you tried it. And you might be pleasantly surprised.” The Garage Sale Mysteries star told Us that going on the roller-coaster was “symbolic of opening another piece of myself, going, ‘I'm ready. Let's go. I'm here. Let's go. I'm up for it.’” Loughlin revealed that now that her daughters are grown and out of the house, she’s decided not to “let the grass grow under our feet.” Loughlin and Felt are planning to put themselves first by taking a girls’ trip to London together. “We're just trying to be out there and live life, enjoy it all,” Loughlin shared. “It's the year of yes.” Loughlin, who was married for 27 years before her divorce, admitted “it’s [a] time of looking out for ourselves” and “putting yourself first, in ways.” She noted that she and Felt are “giving women,” but sometimes "prioritizing yourself” is necessary — and for the friends, that time is now. “It's a great time to do it, especially when you're on your own or you're an empty nester and your kids are out on their own,” Loughlin added. “We will always be moms, always have to be in the mix and ready to roll up our sleeves and be there.” That outlook also inspired Loughlin’s four-piece capsule collection with LOLA by Laurie Felt, her first collection with QVC. “She convinced me that we should do this. At this point in my life, I was like, ‘You know what? This is great. I'm up for a new adventure. I'm doing it with a friend. What could be better?’” Loughlin recalled while describing the design process. “I love to work, she loves to work, but the combination of getting to do it together was really what was most exciting to me.” Felt added that the collection is all about “comfort” and the ability to make people feel “good about the money that they spent with us.” LOLA by Laurie Felt, the four piece-collection with Loughlin, is available on QVC.
