A robo-sprinter’s test run ended in a shower of sparks after it plowed into a wall, sustaining damage to its midsection, as seen in a video with 5 million views on X.“I think China’s robotics industry may be over-optimizing for speed right now,” Eren Chen, an AI expert who shared the footage, wrote in the caption.The robo-flop occurred while it was trying out the track ahead of the second World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing, China from August 22-26, Jam Press reported.The humanoid robot crashes into a wall during a test run in Beijing, China. The cartoonish clip shows the unidentified flying down the track, when, all of a sudden, it collides with a padded blue wall. Despite jogging backwards, the blundering bot is unable to correct course. The hapless humanoid topples backwards onto its noggin and seemingly breaks its waist, causing sparks to fly like one of the ill-fated police prototypes in “Robocop 2.”This literal balls-to-the-wall incident elicited guffaws galore online with one X gawker musing, “twenty thousand yuan was gone like that.”Another quipped that it was the “first robot to end his career early due to spinal injury.”Sparks fly as the robo-runner falls backward, seemingly breaking its waist. Earlier this week, Chen shared another X video that seemed to show the robotronic prodigy testing out World Humanoid Robot Games’ track. However, even the biped’s alleged superhumanoid abilities weren’t enough to stop it from running off the track and crashing into an electrical box.Nonetheless, all eyes will be on Unitree. The firm’s machinese killed it at last year’s inaugural competition, garnering four gold medals in the 400-meter dash, 1,500-meter race, 100-meter hurdles and 4×100-meter relay.

College Athlete's Tragic End: The Shocking Allegations Against Her Boyfriend

Promising collegiate soccer player Karoline Heintz was allegedly stabbed to death and stuffed into the trunk of a Jeep by her boyfriend – whose mother has been charged with helping cover up the act.  Royce Moser was charged with criminal homicide, two counts of tampering with evidence, two counts of abuse of a corpse and obstruction on Thursday, August 20.  Heintz, an 18-year-old incoming freshman at Pennsylvania Western University, met up with Moser outside his father’s home in North Strabane Township, Pennsylvania, on the evening of Wednesday, August 19, according to police.  “They’re a younger couple talking about how relationships can continue maybe in a college setting,” Pennsylvania State Trooper Rocco Gagliardi said at a news conference on Thursday. “Somewhere that conversation probably goes a little bit south. Toward the end of that conversation between boyfriend and girlfriend, he goes inside and grabs a large knife from the kitchen.” After returning to Heintz’s vehicle, Moser, also 18, allegedly stabbed her to death in the chest. Moser then allegedly stuffed his girlfriend’s body in the back hatch of her Jeep and drove to his mother’s home in nearby Beallsville for help.  “They tried to clean clothes, tried to clean the car up, tried to get rid of any bloodstains possible and then proceeded to take that vehicle with the mother tailing all the way down to California Borough,” Gagliardi said. When Heintz failed to check in with her family on Wednesday evening, they requested a wellness check. Her phone location placed her at a library in California, Pennsylvania, a short drive from the home of Royce’s mother, Rachel Moser, and near Pennsylvania Western University. Authorities descended on the library, where they found Heintz's dead body in the Jeep.  Rachel was also arrested on Thursday and charged with hindering the apprehension of a fugitive, tampering with evidence and related charges. According to a criminal complaint obtained by CBS News, Royce said he had “a demon take over” before killing Heintz.  Rachel told reporters she “did not” help her son cover up the murder, but said she was “sorry.” When pressed to explain why she was sympathetic, she said, “That my son took a life.” At the time of publication, Royce and Rachel have not entered pleas and do not have counsel. Pennsylvania Western University (also known as PennWest University) issued a statement about Heintz on Thursday.  “PennWest University is deeply saddened by the tragic death of Karoline Heintz, who was a first-year student at the California campus,” the school said. “Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family, friends and all those affected by this tragedy.” The PennWest women’s soccer team opens their season on August 29.

Neutrogena has addressed Hayden Panettiere’s death after fans called to boycott the brand over resurfaced claims about why the actress was fired from a partnership. “We are deeply saddened by Hayden Panettiere’s passing,” the skincare company said in a statement shared via Instagram on Thursday, August 20. “For more than a decade, Hayden was a valued member of our Neutrogena community. We are proud to have partnered with her and understand that we made her feel unsupported during a very difficult time. This is not what Neutrogena stands for or who we want to be.” Panettiere, who died at age 36 on Sunday, August 16, served as a spokeswoman for Neutrogena from 2005 to 2015. During a May interview with Us, the Nashville alum claimed that she had been dropped by the brand after she spoke out publicly about her experience with postpartum depression. (Panettiere shares daughter Kaya, 11, with ex Wladimir Klitschko.) Neutrogena continued in their statement on Thursday, “Hayden's courage in sharing her challenges helped inspire important conversations and awareness. We are making a significant investment to a long-standing community health partner to help give more women access to the support they need, including care for postpartum depression. We will share more details with this community when plans are in place.” The brand added that it chose not to speak out sooner out of “respect for Hayden’s family and loved ones.” “Everyone at Neutrogena extends their deepest condolences to Hayden's family and all who loved her,” the company concluded. Hayden’s dad, Skip Panettiere, confirmed the Ice Princess star’s death in a statement to Us on Sunday. “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen,” Skip said in a statement. “We ask for privacy as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.” The Greenville Police Department and Greenville County Coroner’s Office in South Carolina confirmed that officers responded to reports of an “unresponsive female” at an apartment complex, later identified as Hayden, and a possible “drug overdose.” (Hayden had been open about her struggles with drug and alcohol addiction amid her battle with PPD.) An autopsy found “no signs of trauma that would have contributed” to Hayden’s death, the coroner’s office confirmed to Us. The cause and manner of her death “remain pending further investigation and the completion of additional studies.” Three months before her death, Hayden published her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, in which she detailed her journey as a child actress, her relationships and her battles with addiction and PPD. At one point, she reflected on how Neutrogena’s “strict morality clause" and "squeaky clean product identity” affected her image. "My relationship with Neutrogena helped dictate every outfit I wore, every hair and makeup choice, and how I acted when I was out on the town," she wrote. "I never let the paparazzi see me holding a drink — underage Neutrogena girls didn't do that — and while I didn't force myself to dress modestly, I never showed too much skin. I started walking through my life playing the role of Hayden Panettiere, Neutrogena Girl, and, at times, that was a high standard impossible to uphold. Once again, I couldn't stand to let anyone down." During her sit-down with Us, Hayden recalled finding out that she would not be invited to renew her contract with the brand. "After that interview on [Live With] Kelly and Michael, when I said I had postpartum depression, I had no idea when I walked off that stage that I was going to get the call saying, 'Neutrogena wants to fire you, wants to drop you. They're not OK with this,'" she said. "And you're going, 'Wait a second, of all the things? How can they judge me about something that is so human and so real?"
